I woke up and went around my usual business and then had an itch on my side, lower ribs so i itched it to feel a bump, see picture below.
When i went to take a shower i noticed the red mark with the two bite marks like a spider bite so i assumed thats what it was. apparently i got bit while i was asleep. it doesn’t hurt or anything, its just itchy. I’ve been applying benidryl anti-itch cream with 2% diphenhydramine hydrochloride and .1%zinc acetate to it.
My daughter came home from school today and complained of 3 bites on her side. I lifted her shirt and sure enough there were three bites clustered together and one more bite a little further toward her back,She has not had outside recess today. the bites are surrounded by t a very large welt similar to a hive that extends and surrounds the furthest bite. I immediately gave her benedrill(oral). I have attached a picture taken two hours after the benedrill syrup.
Thanks in advance for all your help
Pam
I was bit by something yesterday at about 5 in the morning. I was sleeping when I abruptly awoke to a sharp pain in my left upper arm. I quickly brushed the thing that bit me, as it was still on my arm, onto the floor, but it was dark, so I really couldn’t see it.
Anyway, I had sharp pains shooting down my arm for about 3 hours afterwards. Then it started to itch and sting and became really irritated. By the time I woke up this morning, The bite site had grown from about 1 cm in length and height to at least 4 inches long and 3 inches wide. I went to the doctor, but he couldn’t tell me what had bit me, I’m really curious…
But yeah, it is very red, veeeery itchy, hot, and there are two small puncture wounds side by side, which makes me think a spider bite…

Here’s a pic: (the line is there to monitor if it gets any bigger)
, 3 days
Ok, some more info on my bite. It looks very similar to Sherri/Andrew(#58), Jo(#91), Robyn (#127), and Chad’s(#181), with the exception that mine did not form a white ring around it. It has now been 24 hours. The doctor put me on an antibiotic, a steriod pill, and both bacterial cream and steriod cream. The creams only made the itching even worse and I was advised to discontinue use as it really wouldn’t have helped anyway.
The itching is about to drive me insane, because every time I try to scratch, sharp pains shoot down my arm. I have been on benedryl as well as the meds listed above bc i was advised that it would stop the itching, but it hasn’t…
Anyway, i just want to find out what it is, so if anyone knows, help!!
By the way, my dr. just said that it was a venomous insect bite, so I know that it was venomous, but the 2nd doctor i went to said that it might just be a reaction to a non-venomous insect. I do have very fair skin, but I usually don’t have reactions to insect bites. I live way back in the woods, so I’m used to insect bites, but nothing like this. I’m from Northwest Louisiana.
The second doctor also said that if it is a venomous spider bite, it would be one of the three that are common in la, he ruled out brown recluse and the black widow, and so all that is left is the wolf spider, which feels like a sting when bit, which mine did. But I’ll keep you updated on the progress…
An Update: So it has now been three days. The swelling and redness has gone down, but now the area around the bite is turning slightly purple. You can’t really see that in the picture below, it’s not very clear, but it is also starting to look like a rash, there are tiny blood vessel looking things all around the bite, and a white circle has appeared, beyond which the redness has spread.
Still don’t know what it was, but i’ll keep you guys informed.
I’m out in Tokyo working for seven weeks straight and was bit by a mosquito type bug a week and a half ago. I didn’t see the bug, but it bit my forehead. Now, there is a hard cyst-like bump on my forehead in the same spot as the bite. It’s not red or itchy, but very hard. It sounds very similar to Amanda’s #143. Does anyone have an answer? Amanda – what did you find out about your bite?
Discovered this bite on my leg after a 10 hour overnight flight back from Sao Paulo Brazil.
I could have gotten the bite in Brazil or on the plane, either way it could be a north or south american spider, heck it could even be european or asian if the plane made that route recently.
This bite is about 1/4 inch across.
Any help would be appreciated.
Chris
Hello,
I woke up with these about five days ago. At first they looked like really bad pimples. They burn.
No idea what kind of spider bit me.
Does anyone know what might have bitten me and do I need to go to the hospital?
Thanks,
Nik

Over the weekend i got another 10 bites all over my body. Within the two years, my body now is all scared up. I will be calling my doctor again. I’ve relaced my bed, sofa, and other things that i think could cause this, but no luck. I’ve applied lanacane, gold bond, taken oak meal baths, allergy medicine….just to relief the itch. I was wondering, has anyone considered having an exterminator and if you did, DID IT HELP? I will keep you posted on what my doctor says. This is taken over my life.
Hello i just moved to stanwood mi. yesterday, i felt a sharp pain in my back, that felt like a bruise. so i had my husband look at it. he said there was no bruise but read swelling. well today, it hurts even more. so i asked him to look again. he said oh my gosh. then that it was real red and swellen with a few round bumps that look like blisters.
I had him rub alcohol on it, and then poke them with a needle. he said pus and blood came out. it truely is painful. i feel like i got punched. im also starting to feel numbness, weakness and nausiated. i dont know if thats from just thinking about it being a spider bite or what. i do know for sure it hurts so bad it brings tears to my eyes.
I dont have a doctor here, since i just moved here, and i doubt theres a hospital here its a small town. im sure there is one in a bigger city close by, but reallycant afford it.
The picture above is before he popped them. they have gotten worse since he popped then. any info would be greatly appreciated. sorry the pics arent the greatest.

The bites in the photos below are of two kinds.
The photo #1 is a bite that looks like a crater at the lower part of my leg. At the upper part of the photo a few days later it looks like this. Photo #2 is a bite on my finger that has a core in the center that is two weeks old. Photo #3 three is of the same bite as photo #2 on my big toe but is 3 months older. I have no idea what kind of bites they are. Can someone help? Thanks.
I just discoverd this bite under my right leg.
It’s a lump about an inch wide. its not painful unless I mess with it. my main concern is I am in costa rica and bot flys are known down here. but I have not been in the city for the past month. Let me know what you think!
Thanks!
I was in Greece sitting in a chair and did not feel a bite. But there were two small signs of a bite on my lower leg, but they disappeared soon. The leg became swollen, red and the skin became loose and I had to take most of it off. Now after 6 weeks the leg is still swollen, no pain and the function is not impaired. What spider could bite without pain in Greece and cause such a long swelling of my leg?
Please I have no idea really, i have been researching on bites for a while now but i have bites on my legs and a few on my arms they do not hurt unles i scratch them. they seem to react like mosquito bites.
Any help pleasee.

Okay I work in a manufacturing plant, in Louisiana and couple days ago felt bite on my leg. Havent thought anything of it, small bump maybe like mosquito bite with minimal itching. Now couple days later I have what appears to be a light bruise, (dont remember bumping anything also dont bruise easily) the center of which is about a dimes size and is harder than surrounding skin but still soft enough to push on, no pain very little soreness to hard pressure. Then the area around center looks greenish in color and extends about 1 inch all the way around dime sized center.
My husband has a knot on his stomach and says’ it’s a hard knot . says it’ doesn’t really hurt. it kinda itches and is red. said he tried to get infection out but only made it worse. he’s thinking it’s a spider bite. i work at a hospital . i’m not a nurse or anything. i tried to get him to come get checked out but said he wasn’t going to. said he is going to the doctor this week. any ideas as if it’s is a spider bite. he got it when we moved in our aprt about 2 months ago. and it had a lot of bugs and spiders in it. and it still has a few bugs that sneak in. if you have any suggestions or ideas please post them ASAP

I believe I was bitten on the lower right hand side of my back by a small black spider @ 5 or 6 days ago. The first symptom was an itching sensation, however as the days progressed, my back became sore in that area and numb!! What seemed to be a smaller pin point type bite has almost spread to a poisen ivy type line of bites. I’m going in to the doctor’s today.
I got a tick bite on my thigh a year ago. No lyme disease but a reaction, a hard black bite surrounded by red skin, itchy.
I had corisone injections and it went down, but left a purple patch and now it’s suddenly swelling up with red blisterlike things.
2 more tick bites since then but luckily not this reaction.

my son has this red mark on his leg, the front of his calf. it almost looks shiny in middle, and looks like a rug burn, but around the area is red circle like it;s irritated a bit out like about a half dollar size outside of the bright red area with shiny middle. bug bite? spider bite? he got it sometime today not sure if it happened at his friends townhouse or outside his house or even here, but i think it happened there, he all of a sudden got leg pain and it started hurting in his ankle, felt like a clamp was on it. leg still hurts and the sore is warm.
Hi, I’m a concerned Mom and I need help. I have done several hours of research on spider and insect bites and cannot figure out what is biting my one year old daughter. It has happened several times usually when she’s sleeping her crib.
I have killed two different types of spiders in there. A jumping spider and a real tiny nearly transparent spider. After this she had no more bites. Until yesterday, she was bit while playing in her play yard. I was right there and never saw anything on her.
It leaves big red circles with a white pimple in the middle. You cannot pop the pimple as it is extremely hard. These circles enlarge quite a bit, become really hot to the touch and then a rash breaks out around them. It has very fine bumps and I notice it itches.
She goes crazy trying to itch them. It is also never just one bite but multiple and this time its nearly 16 bites. On her arms and legs both the right and left sides. They stay for nearly two weeks then they leave light brown marks where the bites where.
Any help in figuring out what is biting my little one is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
hi!
can you help me identify this insect bite? i think it is 3 bites, each in sets of two punctures (2 kind of overlap). i woke up last week with a big red inflammation on my posterior. the first day it didn’t hurt or itch. on the second day it started to itch and the inflammation got worse. i couldn’t even see the bites until the 3rd or 4th day. it’s been a week now ( in the photo), and the swelling is well down.
what freaks me out is that i got the same thing last spring in exactly the same spot! 3 bites, each of 2 punctures each, all in a row this time. same inflammation, couldn’t feel it on the first day or recognize the bites it until the 3rd day. it scarred really badly, i have discolouration around the area and tiny little scar tissue around where the punctures were.
i don’t know where it was i got hurt because i didn’t feel anything, but i really want to get this bug!
thanks!
I don’t know what I was bit by, but it started out as a little red bump. It is on the left calf muscle. It has gotten bigger with pus then red around the bump. My leg is tight and swollen around the bump area.
Hilary, Mary, and Jason I have been getting these red welts for about 5 months now. Take a look at the pictures below:
They go away and i get them again, i don’t think they are mosquito bites but they itch a lot. I have about 18 of them on my feet, legs, and neck. What are they?
I woke up the other day with my left leg hurting and when I looked to see why, I noticed a redish spot on my left shin, about the size of a nickel but not round at all. See pictures below:
The night before I was cleaning out my garage and killed several spiders, including a black widow and several others. The red blotch was kinda hard, warm to the touch and hurt like I racked it hard on something, you know when you curse at yourself for not paying attention to where you were walking. As the day progressed it became really painful and swollen. I decided maybe I should relax and elevate it which made it better untill I tried to get up which caused so much pain I could barely stand.
The swelling has progressed to my ankle but it is less painful and the red spot is now purple and has got bigger. Anybody know what it is??
i have many bites possibly from a spider but maybe othe bug on my right pec, they are red, and a small area over each bump is scabbed over, it hurts like a large bruise is there and itchs like mad, but hurts to much to touch, anyone able to help
I have a red circle about an inch long. There’s two blisters about a size of a pencil lead, see a picture of one below.
There’s swelling and itching and thick off-white fluid that comes out. One blister broke and it hurts to touch sometimes.
Thanks,
Barb
Three nights ago I think something bit my lower eye lid. When I woke up in the morning there was a tiny bump closer to the inner corner of my bottom lid. It didnt really hurt, but as the day went on it got bigger and started hurting more. And now today its even bigger and red and really really hurts. My eye looks a bit deformed now. Is there anything i can do to stop the swelling/redness/pain?
My husband was bitten by something. Initally his symptoms were flu like. Chills, sweating, Headache, coughing, both of his hands hurt like arthritic pain, severe gland pain on his right side at the back of his neck and his gland there was swollen and hard. He was extremely restless and I made him a bath of epson salts. He said he felt horrible, and called into work thinking he had the flu. The next day he felt better about 5:00 p.m. after taking some royal jelly and bee pollen. He was feeling better but had a swelling on his face that was about the size of two quarters vertical on his right cheek. I saw two tiny pin hole marks on the back of his neck behind his right ear with two faint red trails going down from them. Today he went to the emergency hospital. They said he had classic spider bite symptoms and pumped him full of antibiotics. He is unusally uncomfortable with cold and today the swelling on his face is much larger, and still very red put not as puffy just more spread out. HIs welt is not blue gray as in other pictures of brown recluse. He is still coughing and says that it really hurts in his back when he coughs. The docter outlined the red swelling on his face and he goes back to the docter tommorrow.
I got these bites yesterday around 10pm i believe, on my left hand. Now they look like this.
I washed all the sheets just hrs before these bites can anyone tell me if these are spider bites?
Thank you
I saw the spider bite me, looked like a good size wolf spider, as I was loading boxes into my car…I had disturbed her so she struck…I had major achey joints for days and dizziness and the bump (which at first felt less than but looked like a bee sting) expanded and within a week looked exactly like ringworm, size of a quarter and little itchy blisters on the outer red-ring seeping fluid. See the pictures below.
I had a Dr. though who was wise enough to know the difference before I even told her I knew for certain I had been bitten. I am now on oral antibiotic and steroid, also had steroid shot and topical steroid cream prescribed-the works!!
I shouldn’t have waited so long. But also don’t settle for “ringworm”, ask for testing to be done for fungus so you can be sure to receive proper diagnosis/tx.

3 days ago while gardening and reaching between some plants y felt a puncture like pain in a finger, followed by an intense burning sensation. It started itching and it is now swollen and blistered. It is slightely traveling down the finger. There is no puncture sign but it hurts. Is the fourth finger. Could this be a spider? I am sending a picture.
My daughter came to me complaining about a bite, I’m pretty sure it was a spider. We do have brown recluse here in western Utah. The bite below is about a three days old.
It’s been pricked and we’ve pushed out some pus, but it’s really starting to swell now. I’m nowhere near a doctor. (100 miles or so away).
Somebody tell me what to do. I’ll take her to the doctor, I just don’t want them to tell me to go home ya’know.
I had a bite just above my navel where my jeans are tight and my belt was rubbing. It got infected and lasted about a week until I squeezed everything out. It is now healing but I got a new bite to the right of the original. It red about 6 inches in diameter. It feels very bruised and has a hard spot in the center. I’m not tired or week, it just hurts to bend.
Ok, so there’s a lot of information about being bitten here and little about what it is or what to do about it.
Try this with your bite, especially if it is swollen:
Mix one egg yolk 1tsp salt, and 1tsp vinegar. It’s messy but most pultices are. Put it on your bite and wrap with a plastic bag. We used seran wrap it worked great. Then we put a sock on it, cause it was on the big toe. Works Great! We left it on for about an hour, but we just plan on doing that til it’s completely healed.
Hello, my name is jason. I’m from tx. I am not sure how to explain this but I will try, about a week ago I got a bite from I have no idea what, at first it was just a bump, so I thought I hit my head on something, after a few days I picked at it and squeezed it and pus came out. So I thought it was over, I was wrong. It has now became a blister, which looks like a huge pimple, and red and swelling all around my neck.
I am in a lot of pain, I get dizzy, high fever vomiting, and from time to time, faint.
I want to go to the doctor, but I Think it will go away soon, please help me, thank you
My daughter was bitten by something and developed a red lump near her naval area with a black dot in the center. After a couple of days, there was oozing of pus from the center of the lump and now the pus has stopped and it looks like the lump has also gone down in size. Its been 6 days now and we are taking her to the doctor tomorrow for antibiotics (we were in mexico on a cruise when this happened). I saw some emails from people who had something similar. Any idea what it could be?.
Regards
Lucky
two bite close together-two holes no swelling or other symptoms-just took a long time to heal
looks like one bite
I recently got my hardwood floors ripped up and new carpet put in. I woke up the next morning after the carpet was installed. I had three small red bumps on my face. One above my lip, one below and one on my chin. At first I just thought they were zits but one seemed very bruised and swolen. The next morning my lips were puffed up and I was a little taken back. I then was thinking spider bites. The one above my lip kind of went down over the next few days… the one below my lip got pretty big and then went down but now.. the one on my chin, that kind of seemed like the least of worries has blown my whole chin up. It is a slight white head and I feel like I should try to drain it or something. Not sure what caused it and if I should see a doctor. I have also been fighting a cold and am not sure if this is all related. Thoughts?
Try ice and an Antihistamine
I have yellow spiders in my home. I call it this because it’s pale yellow, not because that’s it’s real name, as I don’t know the name. It’s approximately 2cm in overall size. Usually, I leave all spiders alone and have been known to save them from getting smashed by those who are afraid of them. One night I was bitten by a yellow spider. The site was reddened, swollen, itch and painful, much like a bee sting. It was about three weeks before it healed completely. Now any time I see one of these spiders, I kill it. Yes, I kill spiders. I’m so ashamed. But it’s only these yellow ones because I know they will bite and I’m not sure if a more severe reaction could happen. Any info on this spider would be appreciated.
I was hanging out with my friends on the 27th of Dec. when I first noticed anything. I was wearing the new dress I had on and I was feeling the design on the front when I ran my fingers over and itchy spot.
I thought it was just me, but I continued to itch throughout the night and into the next day, not continuously, but you know what I mean. A few days later, around the Jan 1st or so, I developed a sinus infection and an upper respiratory infection. I thought nothing of that, I was so focused on my itchy spot.
I have this terrible habit of messing with bumps, such as squeezing them or just messing with them just to see what they are. So I squeezed this one, thinking it was pimple in a weird location, but it didn’t look like one, so I didn’t think about it. Now I rarely get bit by anything, but there’s always a first for something.
The area started getting inflamed and jut grew and grew. It had a mind of its own, I swear. So I went to the doctor’s office for my various infections and this wretched thing growing on my body.
He took one look at it and diagnosed it as MSRA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) which is a skin infection. It’s a bacterium responsible for difficult-to-treat infections in humans. It resembled #33’s pictures (I don’t have any of my own).
I’m nervous because I don’t have any tests on it yet, and this ”infection” is life threatening. I’m really hoping it was just a bug bite.
Hi, my name is Nora and I don’t know what to say or how to explain it. I woke up a few times and there were these really huge bites on me . the first time it was really noticeable was when I woke up one morning to discover huge mosquito bite looking bites.
One huge bite one on my neck was the size of a quarter and maybe a little larger it was really hard and really big and really swollen. There was another near it and another on the other side of my neck one on my lip and another on my nose and yet another just under my jaw and elbow.
They were huge and it took about a week for them to go away but when it happened I was feeling dizzy and hot and really itchy. The other time I woke up and my chin was really really swollen.
I have never seen a bump so big my whole chin is like one big bite the size of a silver dollar and it looks like I have a double chin and its so swollen it just looks like it is popping.
I don’t know what to do this happens every few weeks and I clean and clean my room was my bed and all the sheets I just don’t know what’s causing the bites. I notice a pattern in that every time I get bit it is always a cluster of bumps. Maybe someone can help
Three days ago I notice a little welt that was hard in the center and I immediately thought, bug bite. I tried squeezing it a bit and nothing came out. The next day it become more painful and grew in size. Three days later, it has grown three times in size (the enitre area is red), the center is very hard and very red and the entire area (near the knee) is swollen. I am in a great deal of pain and my skin feels tight and numb. I am really worried. Can anyone help me identify this? Thank you.
This was a bite we think from a spider or insect. It happened on the 4th January 2008. It has gradually become bigger and itchier.
Thanks,
Carly
I have no idea how to send photos, but I’ll do my best to describe it.
I live in Utah. About 4 days ago, I woke up to severe itching on my left shin. By nighttime it itched so badly that I thought I was going to go bonkers. I knew that scratching often makes things worse, so I slept with mittens on so I wouldn’t scratch. The lymph nodes in my neck were a little swollen and sore, but I didn’t think anything of it because I had been sick a couple weeks ago and thought I was getting sick again.
The next day, it was red with a bit of swelling and still itched like crazy. I applied some minty toothpaste to alleviate some of the itching (works great on mosquito bites), but that didn’t help much. I wasn’t sick, but the lymph nodes were still large and made it uncomfortable to swallow.
The following day, three small purple spots had appeared, about 1/4 inch or less apart from each other, and the red had nearly doubled in size to about the size of a quarter. Still itched like crazy. I tried toothpaste again and that didn’t help at all. Swelling in the lymph nodes has gone down a little. My breathing was a little wheezy and had a frequent hacking cough that hurt.
Today the red swelling is rather hard and about the size of a silver dollar. The purple spots are a little larger and two of them have nearly merged. It hurts just a little when I touch it, but the itching is driving me up the wall! My lymph nodes are just a little big and hard but not badly. Still wheezy and hacking a lot–my throat and deep in my chest are beginning to hurt.
I live in a basement apartment and occasionally get all kinds of arthropod visitors. Especially this scary-looking, very red spider that I can’t find in any book, or even online. I can’t say that it is what bit me–in fact, I don’t know for sure whether it is a bite, or even what kind, but it kind of looks like one. The itching sensation is spreading up and down my leg and the dark purple spots have me a little concerned.
Update on Jan 17, 2008:
Update: the purple spots have grown and merged but the red area has not spread and is fading. However, the itching now occupies my entire shin from knee to ankle and across both sides. Now as bad, though.
My husband told me to put lamisol on it–he said it might be athlete’s foot, as his flared up a few days ago. I thought he was joking. He wasn’t. I doubt it, though, because we don’t share a shower and besides, how could it get from his toe to my shin? Whatever it is, I think it’s going away.
We live in Buffalo, New York. My husband awoke this morning with what we thought was an unexplained bruise on his forearm. It wasn’t until we looker closer that we saw the puncture wounds. So far, the only symptom is tenderness to the touch. Any ideas on the identification as to what type of insect that is responsible would be most appreciated. See picture day 1 below.
Thank you!

Have you ever thought about chiggers?
I am from the south & these little bugs you can’t really see or feel them when they bite, but in a few hours or next day, they will drive you crazy with itching where it feels better, but hurts at the same time. They especially love biting areas which are moist with sweat, around tight clothing and elastic (socks, undies, hats, watch/bracelet).
They are a real buggy pain down south. If you’ve been to the woods and kicking around the leaves, you’ll probably have chiggers.
Everyone reacts differently – some more extreme than others, but they itch worse than a mosquito & then burn if you scratch! Grab some nail polish!
Home remedies for chiggers include putting clear nail polish on the bite (kills & prevents spread) or swabbing with bleach.
hth!
I am meanwhile battling a series of bites – started yesterday 4 small red bites in a diamond shape – tonight they are huge whelps and seem to be more like 6 bites. They itch, but no other symptoms as of yet
Thanks
T
Well, it sounds at first sight that you might have what I got, Tamara–maybe. Who knows what it is, though.
All my systems are normal now, except for the four (yes, four, not three like I first thought) dark purple spots. They are hard, raised bumps now, still very dark. Really looks like something bit, either twice or four times.
Any professional opinions? I’m a little worried that whatever it is might sometime bite my little girl and I’d like to know what the culprit looks like.
My mother in-law received this bite six days ago. We’re not sure if it was a spider or snake. She did not feel it happen right away so we were unable to find the cause.
We live 60 miles North of New York City, in a rural area. She was cleaning out her garage, moving things around. These pictures are from three days ago. Any ideas?
I had approximately 25 bites in a circular pattern on my butt and four on my hip. I was at home in my own bed. I have never been bitten before nor since. I noticed one bump then all of a sudden all the others were there as well. Every bite was swollen and appeared to have a yellowish fluid at the top of the bites. It is healing now and the bites scabbed and are taking several weeks to heal. What the heck happened? What or some possiblities?
To Eric M.,
Thank you for the picture. It looks almost exactly like the bites I had/still have, aside from the red rash-like swelling the first few days. Any itching?
My bites are still there, still hard, still dark. A couple nights ago, I got another two (or one from something with large-ish jaws) on my knee. Same symptoms as before.
Now I really want to find the culprit. Please help.
I was biten by something about five days ago. At first it was just itching and read around the spot. Day two it was just red. It was somewhat pain to the touch but I thought this was due to the menicus tear that I have on my knee. Day three I noticed that the spot had grown to approx. 1 cm in diameter and the center had a small pen head size pustule filled with white pus. I put a warm towel over the site and the pustule burst. I have been experiencing a lot of pain and discomfort to the entire leg. I
m not quite sure if the pain is coming from the meniscus tear or the bite. Day four while at work, I let the doctor look at it. She gave me a script for Cipro for five days. Your website has been very helful because I saw a couple of pictures of what my bite looked liked. Sorry I don’t have any pictures to share.
Hello,
I have these bites on my forearm and am wondering if anyone can help me Identify them? I have included a picture below.
Thank you!
those are chigger bites. clear nail polish or calamine lotion will help.
also had that same bite marks like alexaarwaarbroek has on the back of my arm when I got up can anyone tell me what it is thanks!
I have numerous bites, they are just like misquito bites, same size and itchy. There is no pus and are not getting any larger. It is winter time here, and of course there should be no misquito’s. My husband and son are not getting bit at all….only me! I have had an upset stomach the past few days also, and a headache when I wake up. I dont know why Im getting bit, and have no idea by what. I have checked my bed (which is a brand new mattress) for bed bugs, and nothing. I do though have spider mites on my plants, but if they are the culprit then why isnt everyone else getting bit?
About five days ago, my mother noticed a bump on her right thigh. My sister notice one in the same spot. My niece also had one on her right thigh. My sister didn’t want to go to the hospital, because she believed it wasn’t a spider bite. Then my mother started vomiting. She had bad stomach cramps and the bite got harder. My sisters bite was smaller but it was red. The babys’ was even smaller, but it got a head on it with yellow pus. My mother is scared to go. She doesn’t like hospitals. Does any one have some advice to get them to go?
I have been getting these bites on my leg, the first set I noticed on 2/12 when I woke up in the morning and the second set I noticed on 2/14. I have included a picture below:
They act just like mosquito bites, they are very itchy when they are touched. I went to the doctor about them, and she thought they were spider bites, but wasn’t actually sure what they came from… (she said they weren’t from bed bugs though). I washed all the bedding in very hot water after the first time I was bitten, and I looked around the bed to try and find was it was from.
Does anyone know whether these bites could possibly be from fleas? The two nights that I got bitten the cat was sleeping on the bed, and the night in between, she stayed downstairs… or is it just coincidence? If anyone knows what these are from, plz let me know so I can get rid of whatever is causing the bites!
Ok, I got two bites on my left leg, and also three on my right. I woke up with them, and every day they are appearing. They have a blister like appearance in the centre of the bite. Every time I scratch it, it swells. But if I don’t scratch it, it doesn’t blow up in size.
So say I scratched it now, but like one hour later, it decreased in size, and went back to its inital size. When it reaches its inital bite size, it looks as if is bruised. I’m not sure whether it is a spider bite or not. At first I thought it was a mozzie bite. But now, I’m doubtful. It’s really itchy, and if I scratch it too much, it hurts. (Kind of obvious), now it’s gone down in size, but it’s still itches and has left my skin looking bruised.
Any idea what kind of bite it is? I didn’t go to hospital or the doctors, because it takes up my time, that I need to use for studying. I live in Sydney, Australia. I don’t think they are bed bugs, because I couldn’t find any traces of them on my bed, when I washed my bed covers and everything.
I was cleaning out my shed a couple of days ago, that’s when I noticed that i started to itch days after. When I scratch I get these welps wherever I scratch! I am so itchy, I have takin an antihistamine, I have rubbed benedryl on the itchy spots and nothing is relieving.
I don’t know when I got bit, but all of a sudden, my leg itched. This is gross, and freaking me out! Any help? I live in Reno, Nevada.
In the picture below, there is a mysterious red mark that is almost the size of a dime.
About 3 or 4 hours ago, I had an itch on my hand while I was unpacking some boxes in my shop. I scratched it and looked at it afterwards, in poor light, and i noticed some light bruising starting. I forgot about it and noticed about an hour ago under good lighting. There is a small bit of swelling, no more itch, and a little soreness if I push on it. Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Paige
Hi,
This bite happened yesterday, and it it very painful. Does anyone have an idea of what my have bitten me?
I live in Reno, Nevada.
Thanks,

my son was bitten by what we thinks was a spider. we were camping and he was by a tree . All of a sudden my son started crying i thought he got stung by a wasp , thats what it looked like at first. but then it was getting bigger. it swelled to the size of the palm of my hand but just a little bigger , he had some pain in his stomch area when he sat down or bent over. i have never seen or delt whith a spider bite. we came home and he sat in the tub with warm water, it seems to have drawn the redness out he does not complain of pain.. does this sound familier with any one
Hello, about a month ago i woke up with about 22 red bumps on the front and back of my lower legs. I initially thought they were mosquito bites, but then they took forever to heal. They would finally begin to heal but the bump turned like a dark color and itched really bad and it was still very tender. When i would take the scab off it would leave a small hole but would not bleed. Since then most of the primary spots have healed
but I keep getting newer spots. I haved tried scrubbing them really hard and putting anti-bacterial soap on them to see if they would dry out but nothing seems to help. I’m getting about 3-4 at a time but they are not in clusters they are about 1/2 inch to 1 inch apart. Please let me know what you think it could possibly be. Thank You
I woke up today with tremendous pain between my Ear and Jaw. At first I thought It was a tooth pain, but I looked in the mirror I could see a small bite and my face was swollen. It doesnt itch at all, but it hurts to touch or to talk and move my jaw. Could this be a spider bite?
hello all! 3 days ago i discovered a little zit on my right thigh above my knee. It popped easily and I thought perhaps it was one of those shaving bumps ya know? well the next day while helping a friend of mine close shop it started to hurt, really bad!! I lifted my pant leg up to show him and thats when we noticed there’s 2 little puncture wounds….spider bite. only one of the puncture wounds became a zit though, the others just a small red indent. It doesn’t itch, but it hurts like a mother. It’s been getting bigger [not the wound itself but the redness around it]. yesterday it became the size of the top of a coffee mug. today it’s not as red but still rather large, and it hurts….badly. theres not red lines or rings around it, just sore and red. and the puncture isn’t getting worse/bigger. I’ve been cleaning it with peroxide and using cold/warm compresses to relieve the pain.
I wish i knew what bit me, I live in central Ohio and i think i received this bite while sleeping….I’ve shook out my bed sheets many times in hope of finding the culprit however he’s no where to be seen.
so does this sound familiar to anyone?
I’d like to know how long this pain is going to last D:
thanks everyone!

UPDATE 3/4/08:
I’ve been diagnosed with MRSA so note to anyone sharing similar symptoms, go to the doctor immediately, you may be suffering from CA-MRSA which can be life threatening if left untreated.
Hello,
A few days ago I noticed my finger itching under my class ring. I did not feel any stinging sensation but did notice a small sore that seemed to be oozing fluid much like an ant bite if it is opened up. A few minutes later I noticed that my finger was starting to blister underneath my ring. I took my ring off and washed the area but the blistering did not go away and was the affected area was covered with some sort of moisture. That seemed to spread the blistering. It does not look like anything I have seen.
In the pictures below, you can see the area with an arrow pointing to the initial sore and the finger next to the ring finger starting to get red as well.
Does this look like an insect bite or do you have any idea what it might be? I thought about poison ivy or poison oak but this is the only affected area.
Thanks in advance for any help.
John
Just to be safe, if you think you have a spider bite GO TO THE DR! My son had what we thought was a spider bite and it turned out to be MRSA infection, which can quickly become limb and life threatening. See the section on MRSA, it is a staph infection that used to be limited to hospitals and nursing homes, now is spread through the community, day care, sports teams, etc.
Be careful.
i woke up yesterday and my side was itchy, i looked down and there was a small red circle with two little blister looking things inside. today i woke up and the circle is bigger and i have probably 6 or 7 of the small blisters now. i dont know what it is and its worrying me.
My husband has what I think is a large spider bite with a few other smaller ones in his arm pit. I got one exactly like it on my abdomon last summer and the dr told me it was a spider bite and did not elaborate on the type, but I was allergic to it. The bite is very sore with green pus in the middle of it. We live in northern michigan and I would like to know what type of spider or insect it is and what I can do to keep it out of my house.
Thanks
I was working in the garden 2 weeks ago and noticed I had a red bite w/a small white blister on top on my finger.
It has left a red sunken area in the middle with white scaly looking skin around it. it has stayed red but doesn’t have a dark middle area.
What do you think?
Thanks,
Steve

I fell asleep for two hours on Thursday and woke up to about 20-30 bites on both sides of my torso. I have turned the house upside down and cleaned and washed everything. I’m not sure what bit me, but my bites look like Hillary C #41. The bites go from under my armpit to about my butt. They do not itch, but are slightly raised and if touched they are bothersome, but they are now starting to fade. There is nothing on my bed or box spring that resembles any type of bug, but I’m not sure what to look for. Could dust mites cause this many bites? Also, my boyfriend did not get one bite.
Thank you,
Juana R.
Hi,
I have no idea what is biting me and would think it was in my head if it didn’t happen every night and sometimes during the day as the bites don’t leave any marks. Usually at night if feel sharp pains on my skin (mostly legs and thighs but sometimes arms, neck and torso).
It feels like someone is pinching me HARD in one, small location or a small, sharp bite. This mostly happens at night but occasionally during the day. I originally thought they were bedbugs and got my entire apartment de-bugged and washed/extra dryed all my clothes but am still being bit (though not as frequently). I turn on the lights and look for bites & bugs each time I feel something but can never feel anything.
Can you help me ID this pest?
2 little holes, water? comes out, was fine, but now my hand its getting swollen and red, should i see a doctor
Hello,
My bite area is warm to touch, was the size of a nickel, little bigger now. When I look Inside I don’t see pus and it’s hard under the skin, very itchy and hard not to scratch!
Here is the picture below:

Thanks.
I was bitten on the left side of my upper back on Easter Sunday. It has been itching like crazy and is spreading towards the right side of my back and downwards. There is also redness and my husband cleaned it last night and said I had 3 pimple like bumps that he popped. It is itching worse now.I don’t know what kind of insect/bug it was. Can anyone out there help me with the symptoms I described? Please!!
Should I see a Dr.?
I just saw your helpful site and hope you can help me!! Is this a spider bite?! It itches badly and will emit pus, when pushed down on! Itches badly! Been about 4-5 days.
My aunt was taking a sip of coffee and was bitten on the tongue by a black spider. It was quite small about a centimeter and a half long. It had two yellow spots on the lower body. Can anyone tell me what it was?!
My one year old was bitten by something. It looks similar to #63 Andrew and Lisa’s post…..Did anyone ever figure out what the bite was?
i have a bite on my hip not sure what it is from it looks like a spider bite it is very sensitive to touch. It feels like it has a bump under the skin. help please. it has like a black thing inside of the red
I first noticed I had some mild pain and a slight bulbus area just below my left elbow and about an inch into my forearm. It felt warm to the touch and got a little crusty but that disappeared. During that day I wore my jacket most of the time and at the end of the day, when I took my jacket off I saw about 50% of my forearm now involved in what appeared to be a purplish bruise.
I figured I must have bumped my elbow and that the bruise was , just a bruise. Throughout that night, I was restless and had difficulty breathing. I have COPD and Emphysema plus sleep apnea, so breathing difficulty is a way of life.
I use a Bipap at 15 liters and I seemed to be fighting it so, I stopped it and just stayed awake. By 5 am, I was exhausted and put the mask back on and finally passed out (slept). When I awoke I was sore in the arm (all the way into the armpit) and some of my joints. As I moved around, it seemed to get better, but the arm looked even more involved and the brown/purplish bruise had grown and was now all purple and seemed to have crept further down the forearm into the wrist.
During the day, I found that my normal functions were really laborious and I took a nap, not too unusual, but still sore and glad to get off my feet. As I lay in bed I realized I was feeling mildly shocky and slightly chilled, as if I was coming down with something. I had been 2 full weeks recovered from the flu and considered it might be a relapse.
By 2 am the next morning, my arm was feeling sometimes a slight tingle towards the fingers and then sore and once in a while a throb or two. I saw this as something that could be serious so I went to the Reno VAMC emergency. They were certain that I had bruised it, even though the bruise was traveling and sent me home saying that there was no infection(?).
When I got home I realized that there was a white dot in the middle of the darkest part. At first it just looked like a crumb or something. But it’s definitely raised and sharp to the touch. The point itself doesn’t hurt but the arm continues to get more sore and now the purplish area is up to the base of my left thumb and the back of my hand around my 4th and 5th is slightly swollen and beginning to redden in color.
My malaise has progressed and, as I told the ER doctor, every injury or physical trauma I’ve had in recent years is feeling exploited and sore. They told me nothing was wrong and sent me home, but I am wondering if this could be a bite.
Thanks,
Bill
Supplemental 4/22/08:
Jim,
Keeping you posted on my progress. 3 days after I posted, I was in the hospital again. It seems that I had a swollen kidney and passed several stones. I can’t help but think these are related because the condition on my arm continued to progress to include the top of my left hand.
When I returned to the hospital, they again, insisted there was no infection. On the 19th I had severe pain in my right kidney and once again presented myself. My BP was through the roof and I guess they didn’t want me to stroke out on their shift so I was admitted and given IV morphine, which did about as much for my pain as coffee does for a drunk!
A CT revealed a stone already on it’s way and so they gave me more narcotics and a strainer and sent me home. I fought for several hours and could really feel the arm and joints as well as the stone. I couldn’t even sip water without giving back bile. As of this morning the stone(s) have all passed (I hope) and the pain has subsided. Interestingly enough, so has most of the discoloration on my arm and hand.
My grip is back and that white spot is nowhere to be found! Curious, isn’t it? So, my question would be, what venom packs a punch like that? I think I am lucky to be alive…
Thanks,
Bill Schmidt
Hello Bill,
Wow! I would seek the advice of another doctor if at all possible, and soon!
If you can’t do that, then I would go back in to the ER and demand the explain in detail why this is happening. Try and pick a shift that the doctor won’t be working (guess, etc) and perhaps you’ll get someone else that will dig deeper into this.
Whatever you find out, whatever happens, please let us know – it will help others that may end up with the same thing.
It sounds like you have it hard enough as it is! I hope this turns out to be nothing and everything works out!
Keep us informed.
Best regards,
Jim.
About 5 weeks ago I discovered what appeared to be small wounds on the bottom my right thumb from splinters. It had the same exact, I mean exact, pain as splinters. I had handled some wooden easels almost exactly a month before, but don’t see how splinters would have taken that long to show up, and I’ve never had three splinters at once. The skin in this general area, about half again the size of a quarter, has the same dry feel as if I had gotten super glue on it.
A week or so after the “splinter” wounds appeared, several extremely itchy bumps appeared on the top inside side of the same thumb, just back of the nail, about the size of the round head of a pin like you sometimes see in packaged shirts. I scratched these until they burst, then bandaged the wounds with the neosporin that contains pain killer. About ten days to two weeks later they appeared again, almost in the same place. Repeated the procedure.
At one point about two weeks ago, the thumb appeared almost healed, but now it’s all back again. “Splinter” wounds on the bottom of the thumb seemingly in slightly different places. No bumps on top yet, but the area seems a little itchy. This seems to be the beginning of a possible third cycle. What in tarnation is this? Pictures wouldn’t show much.
Somebody at work suggested I might have been bitten by a small copperhead, but I think I would have felt that when it happened. My best guess is that when I was planting impatiens in my front flower bed about 5 weeks ago, I got bit by some kind of spider. I’m 55 years old and have been bitten dozens of times by spiders, and all have previously been nothing to worry over, but this one does worry me.
I noticed the itching starting last Saturday. I had no idea the severity of it all until a few days had passed. My husband counted them and I recounted them and we found 30 or so — yes THIRTY different bites. The picture shows the majority of them on my belly on the right near my waistline that spans the size of my hand. IT HURTS like crazy. It’s an awful burning/pricking feeling all the time then I get very sudden pain that comes in waves like an open burn that gets stabbed with hot needles.
I have other trailing bites on my lower back and around my belly button. I don’t know what kind of spider (or if it even was a spider, for that matter), but obviously not one of the deadly ones or I would’ve been a goner last weekend. In any case, this one did some damage. It must have gotten into the bed (we just opened our bedroom windows up again a couple of weeks ago when the temperature got into the upper 70’s, then over the next couple of days it was back down into the 60’s) or possibly my clothing, I don’t know. I didn’t feel any bites, just the itching.
We live in New Mexico. I’m used to seeing some common house spiders – the small brownish ones. And I know that we do have some black widows, but this is not from one of those.
The picture above is after about a week – actual size, about the span of my hand.
First- to those of you talking about areas that swell up and itch in patches and then go away, or pop up after a hot shower, that same thing happens to me and my sister, we have been diagnosed as having urticaria.
Urticaria is a skin condition commonly caused by an allergic reaction causing raised red skin welts. Urticaria is also called nettle rash or uredo. The welts can show up anywhere on the body and can range from .2 inches to the size of a dinner plate in diameter. These welts usually itch very bad and can even burn.
Urticaria is generally caused by comming into contact with an allergenic substance but can also show up under emotional stress. We are on an allergy pill specifically for the itching.
Second- I have been bitten by something, over the past week I have gotten about 5 bites in varying locations. One of my chest, one on the inside of my right knee, three on my bottom. the ones on my knee and chest are small and have a little bit of pus in them, i have popped them a few times but they keep coming back. The first bite on my bottom was about the size of a quarter, it produced pus and is now healing.
The other two are recent, one is swollen and hard and is oozing, the other one is not as big but starting to swell, i can’t really see it but I’m assuming it is like the other. I’m going to the doctor in the morning. they are very red, swollen and hard and very painful making it hard to sit, walk, even stand. They have not itched at all.
I recently found a red mark on the front of my shin the size of a silver dollar. The only thing strange is it does not appear to have holes or pimple like marks in the center. Is this common?
Here is how it started… Friday afternoon I had trouble with vision for about an hour. (don’t know if it’s related) Saturday morning I woke up feeling very weak with my leg hurting a bit. (thought I just bumped it)
Saturday night I could not sleep because I had the sweats and chills so bad I soaked the sheets. (thought I had the flu) Sunday seemed better but the leg still has nonstop pain around the red spot and is still the size of a silver dollar.
Does this relate to anyone else out there before I head to the doctor?
After tipping over my lounger in the back yard (I live in Florida) a lot of water came out (stays out all the time) so I put a towel and laid down. Within minutes, I felt a sudden intense burning pain in my lower abdomen. I didn’t have to ’swat’ any insect away, I just kept my hand there cause it really burned and with the sun beaming on my belly it hurt even more. After 10/15 minutes, I had to get up cause it was so painful.
When I got up it stopped hurting so I got in the pool. When getting ready for a shower, I noticed my lower ab was red in several places and high on my ab there was a red spot as well. It itched just a little and was sore.
The next morning I had about an inch long blister! I was shocked! I popped the blister but it keeps filling up. Any idea anyone what could have bit me?
Thank you. 04.22.08
i was bitten (i believe it is a spider bite, it looks a lot like one) on the back of my left leg right below my bum about a week ago. for the first 2 days i didn’t really notice anything, then it starting getting increasingly worse.
Now, a week later…there are at least 5 bites on that same leg, and 3 of them are HUGE. they have a bullseye looking ring around them, are filled with pus and blood, have a hard pus sac, and hurt INCREDIBLY bad. now, the bites having started spreading and are forming on my other leg, too.
I have a headache, nausea, weakness, fatigue, and it’s gotten to the point where i can’t sit on my left side at all and i can barely walk. does anyone have any idea on what this sounds like or what i might have been bitten by?
I tried poking it and using a hot rag to get the pus out but it didn’t help at all, it just keeps getting worse. i plan on going to emergency soon, but if anyone on here can help me figure out what it might be i would greatly appreciate it, thanks!
Hello,
My granddaughter was bitten by something and I’m not sure what insect or spider may have done this. I have included a picture below:
It started out small (little smaller than a dime) and has now increased in size to a little over 3 inches.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks!
A few days ago I woke up with a bug crawling on my cleavage ( I sleep in my tank top) Well, I popped it, assuming it was a spider because I live in the basement. But, I only have one puncture wound. I have a gigantic bruise surrounding the area, that is spreading. What do you think it is?
We live in Phoenix, Arizona and over a week ago my wife woke up with 3 little marks in a row with one underneath on her cheek (face).
Since then the marks grew together and now is one big scab and there is some swelling and the swelling seems to be going up towards her eye. She had an appointment with her Gastro doc so while she was there had her look at the problem and she prescribed Cephalexin 500MG and she has been taking that and she saw her internist and he thought that was the right meds for what ever this might be?.she has been taking the med since Monday ..today is Friday afternoon .. But it is not getting better ?. It seems like the swelling maybe getting larger and she is having some shooting pain with it. We have called poison control and that was no help.
I just thought it was weird that it started as 4 small little bites that grew into one larger area.
Picture sent.
Thanks
Bob
I found a bite like the bite in photo #128 on my dog. we also found what looks like 2 fang marks at the base of the whole. It has bored a whole right into his skin until we can see the muscle below.
Called the Vet and I am treating as any open wound. The Vet and son who have seen some weird things dealing with animals say its a spider bite. Possible brown recluse.
I’m taking him in morning the see Dr. I have never seen this type of bite, but I will find out what it is. As we have 2 small children living with us. 4 yrs and 6 months. Any ideas would be helpful.
I’ll post a picture later. Live South Central Texas
I got two spider bites last Sunday (7 days ago)…at first it felt like a regular mosquito bite and appeared as one. The first bite is near my ankle, and later i got bite behind my knee.
The infected area grew swollen, was very itchy and now kind of resembles a bruise. I got the bites in my mothers car that stays in our garage. There appears to be a bite like looking thing in the middle and the bruises are in the of a circle, my pictures aren’t too clear.

I woke up in the morning with my eye very red, a lot of people have said its a spider bite. I’m not sure if i should go to the doctor. Please look at the picture and tell me if its serious.
It doesn’t look very red in the pictures but it is. Thank you very much for your help.
Hi, I need help with this, I think is a spider bite but I’m not quite sure, started itching yesterday…I thought it was a mosquito bite at first but this morning already looked like this and the skin around it was irritated, is on the back of my thigh and now it hurts.
The skin around it is VERY, VERY irritated, Any idea? Should I go to a doctor? I applied calamine lotion these morning but didn’t help and now some kind of dexametasone creme and it burns a little bit, I don’t know what to do, please help!!!
Thanks!
Hi everyone. I was bitten a couple of days ago. Started out looking like a mosquito bite Monday night when I got bit and by Wednesday morning I had this red spot. It is about the size of a quarter now and 3 days old. See the picture below.
It is a deep reddish purple color and hurts and itches. I have been taking benadryl…No help. My whole calf hurts. I have seen 2 different Doctors. One told me it was not a bug bite and it was just nothing. He didn’t really have an explanation and the other one flat out said he has no idea what it is.
I am at a loss. I just want to know what it is so I can make it go away!!
Help!
Not sure what my son got bit by but this morning I notice that he had a mark on his leg that looked like a ring worm. I have put tinactin on it and as the day goes on he has more than one and they are on both legs. Now they are swollen, red and about the size of a nickel.
It looks like it has a stinger in the middle but it could be a mosquito bit. I thought ring worms stayed flat on the skin. This bit is in a circle, red, swollen and looks like he been stung. He has about 3 on his legs and this morning he had one.
I live in a wooded area outside of Cincinnati Ohio. I woke up to 2 pus marks along my jaw bone. Within the day my chin has doubled in size. The last time this happened I waited entirely too long and now have scaring on my face in the chin area. It seems as if they go inside my mouth and nest or something. Is that possible?
We bomb our home, we exterminate our home, and myself and son are the worst to get bitten. I am the worst, he is the most afraid. At the age of 14 he is having spider nightmares. My chin doubled and it goes into my glands.
Not feeling very well right now and I will be at my doctors office shortly. I am nauseous and have a small fever. I keep the closets closed and clutter free; use night lights everywhere not only for my son but last time this happened it took 3 weeks for my face to even get somewhat normal where I wasn’t ashamed to go out or afraid something else would get in these wounds.
I have 4 bites along the jaw line, good size ones and a weird piercing pain behind my left knee. Does anyone else have any advice on how I can avoid this from reoccurring to me?
I’ll get pics and post them a.s.a.p. Right now it is 3a.m. and I cannot sleep from the pain. I even check the dogs thoroughly when they come in. The only one never affected is my husband. Any advise or a great spider doctor on the area would be much appreciated.
I too am a Naturopathic Practitioner and have done all the basics that I can without needing further medical care.
My 8 year old son woke up the last two mornings with three groups of three bites. Two under his arm, and this morning, between his shoulder blades.
They are a bit raised, about 1.5 cm total triangle, and very sore.
Are they spider bites, carpenter ants, or bed bugs? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Hi Jim,
I found your lite on live search. I was working in the yard and I think I got bit by something. I also cooked some food in oven so I don’t know if I have a spider bite or burn. I’ve included a picture below that I took yesterday around 9am CA time.
What do you think?? Burn or bite??
PS I have a Dr appointment today after work so I’ll know for sure later.
Thanks Luwana
Update:
Hi Jim,
I had done a lot of work in the garden so that also was a concern of mine. here’s what happened:
I went to Dr. Tues. He didn’t seem to concerned so I said I was glad it wasn’t a black widow bite, he then said, “It could be” and “definitely a venomous bite”. I asked if I’d need a tetanus shot (the nurse practitioner I spoke with on the phone earlier said that I would most likely get one) and he said something about allergic reaction. Not really sure, I was nervous.
When I checked online w/ Kaiser the Dr. diagnosed it as a “non-venomous insect bite”. I was prescribed “Triamcinolone Acetonide Oin 0.1%” and over the counter Benadryl. I’m to use the ointment twice a day and the Benedray if it itches, (in pill form that will made you sleepy). I’ve been using over the counter Neosporin instead because if one uses to much of the Triamcinolone, “Overdose”: “muscle weakness; or unusual weight gain, especially in face” could happen. Since I’m ok, I will just use the Neosporin instead.
The bite looks red and the same size, the blister broke and looks darker than the rest of the circle. I don’t know if this helps at all, but I’m totally ok.
Thanks for your site. I wouldn’t have gone to the Dr. had I not seen it, the pics, I would have waited to see if something happened and then it could have been to late. I was lucky. Your site is better than others I looked at. keep up the good work..much appreciation
Thanks Jim,
Luwana
