I don’t know if I was bitten by a spider or not. I have had many little spider bites that have not done much to me but leave scars. This one however I have never had anything like. Its red and hard where the bite it located. It also itches severely. I have started to get headaches and an upset stomach that feels like its burning. The bite stings as well I can’t really see it because its on the back of my knee. I went camping this weekend and stared to fell really itchy and I thought it might be a tick cause everyone else had gotten bit by those.
But when I reached down to get it there was nothing there just a bite so I scratched it a little and left it alone the next day it was hard and swollen and it itches really bad. I have a nurse in the family so i asked her about it she felt it and everything and said to watch it to make sure it doesn’t get worse. I have noticed that the bite has gotten a little darker then it was yesterday. So I was wondering if anyone knew what I should do??
I don’t know if it was a spider, but something definitely bit my outside about 2 weeks ago. I didn’t feel the bite, but had what kind of looked like a blood blister the skin was not hard like a blood blister and the blood looked bright red instead of purple) in the crook of my arm.
After about a week the blood blister thing went away and you could see 2 puncture marks and the area around it (under the skin) is hard and in a line going towards the inside of my arm. It then was just a red area and still is, but now I have what looks like a blister next to it with a small swollen line going from one to the other.
Heard of this kind of reaction to a spider bite before? If so, any idea what kind?
Hi , I’m from Westchester County, NY .Last night right when I was going to sleep something felt like pricked my forearm. Then when i spread out my blanket I saw there was some type of a spider egg on encasing . Then a cream/translucent spider came out i don’t know if it was a baby but the area where i got bit swelled up a bit and then i started to get shooting pains in my arm. The area where it bit me has gone down but when i touch it , it feels sensitive , should I be worried?
I found this spider on my couch in Central Indiana. Unfortunately I have no other information about it such as web or anything…all I know is it was big.
I felt something crawling on my inner thigh yesterday and tried to slap it away. I did not see what it was. Today I have a series of small bruises in the area. Is there anything I should do other than keep a close watch on it?

hello, my name’s missy and my brother, my mom and i are living in an apartment in Omaha, NE and we have recently been bitten numerous times by some sort of spider, it bites in random places but only comes out at night, as we have no clue what it looks like or any leads to what it is. after it bites us we develop a small, red welt; about the size of a nickel at first, and it itches really badly. but when scratched, it eventually spreads around the welt.
my brother was bitten by one on his arm and within scratching it, it spread up his arm following his vein. we believe their is poison in his blood, we have not yet had a chance to see a doctor, but were planning too. my mom thinks it might be a brown recluse.i’ve tried researching it but nothing comes up. please send me some info on what it might be or how to solve it. thank you.

I have the whiteheads, too! Does anyone else have them? So far, I have no symptoms (fevers, nausea) but the bite is very itchy and has whiteheads. Is this bite dangerous? Is it even a spider bite? Please send replies, soon!
if i suspect that i was bitten by a spider and it left a pimple looking mark, should I pop it to get the venom out?
i walking walking in my boots into school when it felt like either someone jammed a needle into my ankle, or a spider bite/bee sting (but it hurt 100x what a bee sting does) it was all i could do not to yelp. 12 hours after all there was was a tiny red dot about a millimeter in diameter on my ankle. 24 hours later it looked about the same but with mild swelling. 36 hours later it looks like a bad ankle sprain and hurts if i walk on it. my whole ankle is swollen to where i can barely get my shoes on. any info would be great thank you!! im freaked out!
I don’t know if it is a spider bite or not, but my sister says it is. I don’t know what kind but i would like to know. The bite on my chin is hard and round and it’s the color is the color of my skin, its also the size of a dime. The one on my cheek bone is also the same color but is smaller, but it was red earlier when i woke up. The one on my nose is red and small and is a little itchy, the other one on my nose is the same but not as itchy. And the one closer to my ear is red and small but bigger than the one on my nose but smaller then the chin one is red and is itchy and comes out like a pimple. Can you help me out?? I’m like freaking out..

I was sleeping in shorts in South Carolina in a fairly clean apartment, however I found a bite. The area is blackish and irritated – bulging out at least half a inch. I doused it in peroxide, should I be concerned?

Sent you an email with the pictures…I live in Southern Utah. I have small red bites on my body all over me like on the picture attached. Bites are on my legs, hands, arms, stomach, e.t.c. I find about 4+ new bites on me every day.
A couple of days ago I found one of these bugs on me and killed it. I saw another one the next day, but it got away.(They are fast runners) Then today I finally found another; it was on my bed; I caught it and I took pictures of it. This bug has 8 legs and it is the size of an ant.
I don’t feel any pain when being bitten. In fact on the first bites I didn’t know I’d been bitten until it started itching.
Is this bug dangerous? What in the world is it? I’d sure like to know as soon as possible to find a way to get it out of my house.

a red ring sounds like a possible indication of lyme disease. I would have the bites examined by a doctor.
I was in NC over the weekend when I noticed a bite/sting on the back of my neck, it swelled up and was pretty red well it’s 4 days later and now I have stiffness in my neck, severe headache and blurred vision, should I be worried and be checked or could they even tell me anything?
I live in Tampa, Florida and I think I got bitten while asleep. Above my knee and next to it was bitten. The bitten spots got red, hard and swelled to the same size as my knee. It itches a lot and when I do itch it hurts and slightly stings.
I have what the DR says are probably spider bites, they just suddenly appeared, no idea where I was when I was bitten, I don’t know if spider bits appear immediately or they can take hours to appear or what they are ,big lumps more red where they get irritated, white where they don’t, I have one on my forhead that looks like a regular moisquito bite but it is June in south Dakota and very few moisquitoes are out this time of year here.
I have had them for two days and they are starting to go away, they are huge, bigger where clothes irritate them and on areas with out a lot of fat and blood supply, ie larger on inside of thigh than on arm and forehead. Lower leg not so big, more like the one on my arm. Hard to take pictures of them, they are red with definite center that looks like where the stuff the skin reacts to went in, especially as they decrease in size and irritation. I usually do not even react to mosquito bits, so this out of the blue reaction is strange.
Today I woke up in so much pain that I thought I had broken my toe. When I finally pulled it out and showed it my parents, they thought it was just a spider bite. I can not put any pressure on it because when I do, I get a shooting pain up my left leg. It also hurts extremely bad when I touch it. I am going on a walking study trip with my students today and I don’t know what I should do. Should I call the doctor?? Please help!!!
I was in Idaho recently for two weeks. I appears as if I was bitten by possibly a spider. (not sure) I have five small holes (pin size) on my hip. It looks just like a red hive around each hole. It itches off and on. The weird part is that is is numb around the area all the way to the inside of the groin area. Any ideas? Too embarrassed to go to the Dr’s. I was bitten around one and a half weeks ago, and it is not going away.

About a week ago I got some bites on the back of my thigh. (I think I got it when I was out in the woods that week but I’m not sure.) I’m not even sure if it is a spider that bit me, but I think it was. I noticed them a few days later and they were only slight bumps and looked kind of like blood blisters (not all the same size). They did not itch or hurt. Now they are scabs, still varying in size. They only hurt a little bit now but they do itch. The scabs are also starting to peel off very easily. I have no idea what this could be. -.-

i don’t know if my bite is a spider bite but i got this red bump under my armpit.. its hasn’t changed size over the time.. its been four days now… and i feel bone and muscle pain.. also the side i got bit at hurts when i touch it.. now on day four the appeared a red ring around the bump.. i don’t know what this is… HELP

I wouldn’t ever pop a spider bite, your best bet is to go see a doctor if you think that you were bitten.

i think i was bit by a spider about two days ago. See, when i was putting my ballet leotard on yesterday i noticed a large red bump on my hip bone, its diameter is about the size of a ping pong ball and its solid red with no other colors as far as i can see. It is very itchy and is lifted up about a centimeter so it does seem swollen- i told my parents and my dad thinks its a spider bite while my mom thinks its a huge mosquito bite. That’s what it looks like, a big mosquito bite but huge!!! What does this sound like? There is one red line about half an inch long stretching out of it on my skin.
My daughter is 2 and has a “bite” on the inside of her thigh. I noticed it yesterday morning 6/9/2010 and it was about the size of a golf ball and was red and hard. I took her to the dr that afternoon and they said it was def a bit or some sort and said to watch it. It had gotten bigger from the time we found it from the time I took her to the dr, Well last night about 8pm it had gotten bigger so I called the dr and they had asked if the dr that saw her gave her antibiotics and they didn’t so they told me to give her benadryl and Motrin so I did. This morning we wake up and it’s not as red but its still there and so is the swelling. The inside is kinda rough and purple and some shiny spots like the when you barley scrape or burn your self. Any thoughts or comments are greatly appreciated. She has not messed with it but maybe 2 times. The day before it appeared she was itching the spot and I looked ans there was nothing
I live in Boston and have never seen a spider in my apartment. I was at a meeting outside the city and there was an annoying mosquito flying around which I ended up killing. That night though, I noticed I was very itchy on the inside of my arm near the elbow. Normally mosquito bites make the site puff up but this one did not. It has been 2 days and the area is very itchy and it looks like 2 bit marks less than 1cm apart. This and the itchiness make me believe it is not a mosquito bite.
The bites themselves are raised, but the area that is irritated is not- just red and about the size of a golf ball. I have stayed away from scratching, but not sure what has given me this bite. It looks very mild so I’m not worried- but it’s annoying to boot!
Too bad my boss still has my hydrocortisone.
Okay so exactly last week, on Saturday, I had my graduation dinner. I was inside the whole time, until it was picture time. It was already dark (maybe that could help with identification of what ever bit me) and i spent about 45 min outside. After that, I went back inside, and noticed 3 bites just above my right hip. I know i did not have them before i went outside. It was a little painful and irritating. It did not itch at all though. The next day, i took a closer look at it, and noticed two holes on one of the bites, that’s what made me think something bit me, maybe a spider. However, it’s spreading now. Now i have another similar bite closer to my back and i have two more next to the first three i had. It can’t be bed bugs because I’m pretty sure we don’t have bed bugs and it happened right after i went outside. It’s been a week and i still have these “bites”.
They are starting to get more painful and very discomforting. The area around the bites hurts, kinda like a bruise, and the bites have gotten red, as if I was bleeding or something (but i wasn’t). I posted up pictures. If someone has had a similar problem or knows what this is please help. I do have a doctor’s appointment next week, hopefully it’s not too late to tell what i have by then. OH, and it is not herpes! My mom keeps insisting that it is, but I just went for a STD check up last week and I am clean of herpes! Ah, this is getting more and more painful, if anyone could please help identify the little stinker that might have bitten me!

I have a bite on my left arm and that’s the side I usually sleep on. I noticed it the other day and I have 3 or 4 bites (maybe) they are red, puffy and are tender to the touch. sometimes it kinda makes my whole arm ache. sorry didn’t have time to look through all the postings. I have been bitten several times by a spider. I did not see it. My whole leg is very painful, and it seems like the pain is spreading up my leg. Is this normal?
I have a spider bite on my foot that is a small welt with two extremely tiny red dots on it. The welt is huge compared to the actual bite. I’m not sure if the spider that bite is deadly or not.
I live in Ontario Canada and my step dad was out fishing yesterday morning and we think he was bit by some sort of bug. We aren’t sure what bit him but the top of his left foot in swollen and has red blister like blotches on the area where we believe he was bitten. 24 hours after (now) he is feeling very sick, tired and weak. should he go to the hospital? and do you have any idea what could be the cause?

Hi, I live in east Texas and i have a bite on the very back of my thigh. It happened while i was asleep last night, i have seen brown recluses around my house recently but the bite doesn’t match those symptoms. it’s a small red bump about the size of a mosquito bite, it’s very tender to the touch but otherwise doesn’t hurt. I killed a small black spider this morning in my room. The spider didn’t have any bright colors. Can anyone tell me if this is a spider bite and if it is what kind made it?
I was bit by something. I live in southern California. And as much as this embarrasses me the bite is at the top of my butt crack. First few days were just sore. I had thought that I had bruised my tailbone or something. Then I became feverish for a few days and the bite swelled. My wife took a look at it and proclaimed it a brown widow bite. She started me on a regiment of motrin allergy meds and ice/heat packs.
OK been a week of this… It hurts worse. there had been white, brown, and once black puss coming out of this thing. It hurts to get up so much i lay on my stomach and try not to move. And I am at near dangerous amounts of motrin with little noticeable effect. Does anyone have any advice?

We live in South Africa. Since Sunday (13 June) the gland in my upper leg, where my leg and my abdomen join has been swollen and VERY tender, to the extent that I cannot walk correctly. on Monday evening I noticed a small sore on my tummy (not painful at all) but did not think anything of it. I did not sleep on Monday evening, I had a terrible fever, headache, nausea, and flu like symptoms. Tuesday I went to the doc and he said it was a spider bite. Gave me a shot and some meds and I had to lay on my back for a day. Today I am not feeling any better and my right arm has a lot of pain and is a little numb.
We were in botswana for a week at the end of may / beginning of june. What type of Spider could it have been???
So I think I might have a bug bite or a pimple… but i am not sure. I have this big red bump under my eye and it was swollen under my eye… but it is not swollen anymore. When I squeezed it puss came out.
I’m from the Tampa area in Florida. One day I went outside and about 3 to 5 minutes later noticed white blisters on my left calf that formed a circle. At first I had mistaken it for burning myself with my heat blanket, but it didn’t really itch as much as I expected it to. I kept a band aid on it but it didn’t prevent it from the blister popping. I’ve had the scar for about 6 months now and for a while you could see the flesh because of how deep it was. I just want to know if this really was a spider bite or a burn. I also have a recent picture of the scar, which is now about 2 cm in diameter. Thank you.
About 2 years ago i was outside and gnats were crawling all over my arm, i knocked them off and tried to scratch my arm but i realized there was a part of my skin that was missing, about the size of a cigarette maybe a little bigger, and then i was going to take a shower and noticed 3 smaller ones that looked the same was on my breast. it didn’t hurt or itch but I have the scar and it is red pink and a little purple. It scared me to death because i have arachnophobia and my dad said it was a spider bite. i was just wondering why some of my skin was missing and how the spider (if it was a spider at all) without me noticing or anything.

About 3 days ago I noticed what looked exactly like a mosquito bite. Since I thought it was a mosquito bite i left it alone thinking it would go away within a few days. But it only got worse. Around the red bump my skin is reddish. There’s a tiny black dot in the middle. No I haven’t touched it or put any cream on it besides the stuff you would put on sunburns because it helps it feel better. It itches if i touch it, but stings most the time.
Is it a spider bite? If so which kind?
We do have spiders in our house, but they are the size of a nickle, and are tiny and black. They look like House Spiders.
Well, I don’t know if its a spider bite or a bee sting or a mosquito. But, IT ITCHES LIKE CRAZY! Someone said it was a mosquito but I don’t think it is. It is like GIANT! and its a red and swollen it has a shiny red dot in the middle. I say it is about 7cm width and 5 cm long. Some please help me!

It sounds like the bite you have could be a spider bite. I think that your best bet would be to get it checked out by a doctor to make sure that everything is okay. A doctor will most likely be able to tell you what type of spider bit you and if it is dangerous or not.

I have a spider bite on my leg that has been there for three days it has a small sore at the center about the size of a pen point. it is also swollen and pink for about 1/2 an inch all around the bite area, very sensitive to touch and getting a little more painful each day …. anyone know what type of spider this may be I live on a sail boat in south Texas not near any beaches and not a lot of old wood laying around its pretty much all concrete ….
Yesterday I was outside for quite some time and i got many mosquito bites. I got one on my hand but the bite was about a a third of a centimeter in diameter. Today it is quite swollen (the area around it is swollen). The swollen area is about two inches in diameter and when i touch it, it feels bruise like and there is a slight itching/burning feeling. What do you think it could be? I live in Quebec, Canada.
I think I got bit by a spider. Last night there was a pile of baby spiders on the fridge door and I tried to kill them all but a couple jumped on me. Now I have 2 swollen,red,itchy,burning bumps on my left nipple. I also feel like I have a fever now. I am so hot! The spiders were tan with like a black/dark red butt. Are they poisonous? Should I go to the hospital or should I ask my doctor at ruth cooper? It really hurts,burns and itch’s a lot. What should I do?
I had the black dot inside a bite-like rash. It itched like crazy and the next day blistered up really bad. My doctor said it was mostly likely poison ivy or oak (and I agreed once it started blistering) but she didn’t know what caused the black dot. Turns out that there is a type of poison ivy called black dot or black resin poison ivy. Google that and see if your ‘bite’ matches the pictures.
Doctor also told me that if you don’t see the spider biting you then it probably wasn’t a spider.
On June 21,2010 I found a big pile a baby spiders on the handle of of freezer door and I tried to kill them all. But 2 jumped on me and I killed the one that jumped on my pants but the one that jumped in my shirt bit my on my nipple are. They are 2 red bite marks that are thet size of the tip of a sharpened but unsed pencil tip. It itch’s,burn’s,its numb,sore,and its hot around the area I got bit. The spider was tan with a black/dark red butt. I live in north fort myers,florida and never been bit by a spider before. Please help me! What should I do?
i was laying in my bed last night and all the sudden i saw to red lines on my leg. They burned for like 5 minutes and then stopped. When i woke up in the morning the lines were gone. Any ideas of what it could have been?

my names lizeth and i live in los angeles,ca and when i was talking on the phone with some friends. i saw a little spider crawling up my elbow that was black but i didn’t get to see if it was a regular spider or a venomous spider. 1 day past from my rash and it is still the same size.also when i go to sleep, i have a sensation that i have a hole ton of itching in my legs and head, but my mother said it’s just a sensation of the spider bite. i have been putting cream but it won’t disappear.
the spider bite is like a mosquito bite but it is white in the inner core and the outside core is kinda reddish pinkish. the size of the rash looks like the size of a quarter now and it kind of itches while i’m typing this.
if any of you kind people would like to help me, please do, feel free so. i’m waiting for a lot of information

number 7, i think maybe it is the detergent or bleach you use on your sheets that is the problem. It would make since then that it goes away when you shower if its just an allergic reaction and because if it you get hives.
Hi I live in the country in East Tennessee. My 5 month old son just had a bite appear on his arm today after a nap. It has a single pin hole in the center of a raised bump. The bump is kind of white around the hole. It’s not really red around it, it looks like a bruise. The only way I can explain the way it looks is, if you were to take paint on your finger and touch your arm with it and smear it in one direction, that’s what the bruise looks like.
Like its smeared, darker by the pin hole (bite) and the lighter as it goes away from it. It doesn’t seem to hurt him when its touched. He has been a little more fussy today and isn’t really wanting to sleep. We called our local children’s hospital and all they said was if its gets worse bring him in and take him to his doctor…but its the weekend and we cant take him til Monday. Any ideas what kind of bug this may have been? Thank you so much!

So about….4 or 5 days ago I was at work when I noticed a sore spot on my back. Thinking it was just a small zit, I tried popping it through my shirt, so it’d relieve the pressure and not hurt when my shirt brushed it. When I got home, I noticed it was a red bump with a black head. However, I was wearing a black shirt, and it’s on a hard to see spot on my back, so I just figured it was prolly full of fibers from the shirt. I’d been camping and had a sunburn that was peeling, so when my back started itching badly, I didn’t really think much of it until I noticed that the places I itched were bumpy.
Cue noticing three more bumps (not counting the first) on my back. The first bump started to swell badly and I realized the black (after much scrubbing) was a sort of scab. To try and relieve some of the pressure, I picked the scab off intending to pop it and get the pus and nastiness out. Underneath was an almost green jelly like substance, like pus but thicker. It stuck to the back of the scab, and the edges of the now crater in my back.
Squeezing did not help, I had to dig the stuff out. Next day, I have three more bites(now totaling 7 in all, 4 on back, three on leg). One on my leg is pretty bad. Today, now about a week after the first, I did the same thing with the bite on my leg as I did with my back. I removed the black crust (always starts off as black dot in the middle of a red, swollen, mound with a white-ish top) to find the green goo again, this time spreading out under my skin that is surrounding the area.
An insanely disgusting amount of it. The area round it is a deep red. I’m wondering if anyone has had this problem or knows what bit me. I know I should go to the hospital, but reality sucks. I’m a 19 year old who works minimum wage at a coffee house, and my insurance dropped me on my birthday. So any help is greatly appreciated.
I live in West Virginia and live in an apartment building that’s crawling with bugs. The other day I saw a spider with 3 white dots run across my room. Then two days later, I wake up this morning and lift up my pant-leg and noticed a little red/irritated bump about the size of a pimple. I put ice on and the swelling went down but its still kinda there. It doesn’t itch and I don’t feel any pain at the moment.
hi, i recently noticed i had 3 bites on my legs. i’m not sure whether they are spider, but i’ve never seen them before. please reply if you think you know what bit me. the bites are just 3 red rings, about the size of a penny. i think the rings were a bit raised when i first noticed them, and they occasionally itch from time to time, but other than that, there are no symptoms. i’ve had them for 3-4 days now, and they aren’t changing. i think i got bite while i was sleeping. please reply!

spot was white at first then swollen became hard had a one inch red diameter and was hot. It also became one puss pocket which she popped and it was oozing (sorry) she went to dr today they gave her anitibiotic and drew around it but would still like to know what it could be can anyone help?

vicky and spider bite i have the same thing. i’m gonna try a hot soapy bath but my mom said the bump was the venom. so i researched it and came up with a wolf spider they don’t make webs because they hunt and if you are bite by it you need to see a doc i have been told they are not deadly but even so don’t move a lot or it might spread don’t put a band-aid on it use ice but i wonder now because you said that the marks go away away after a shower but when i look hard on mine i see multiple bite marks. please help and i will try to go to doc if they don’t go away and i will report back.

I live in St. Louis, MO and over the weekend I received a bite, didn’t notice when it happened, it started off as a round red bump 1” across with a small dark spot in the center, about 24 hours after I noticed the bump the redness and swelling grew to around 5” long by 2” wide and started itching, after another 24 hours the area that was itching began to get bumps, little bigger then goose bumps. There is still a little brown scab in the center but the area that was red has begun to turn purple like a purse roughly 60 hours after noticing the bite. Area bitten is front upper thigh, 6” below belt line.
Another thing that I noticed, unknown if it is a side effect of the bite, my big toe has been hurting since about the same time as the bite occurred, feels like it is stiff or sprained, hurts to walk correctly so I kind of limp.

Two days ago I was standing under an awning and saw a couple of brownish spiders crawling around on the ceiling. If I remember correctly they were kind of shaped like black widows, but not the right color. A little while later I felt something itchy in my shirt. Unfortunately polite society dictated that I didn’t reach down my shirt to see what it was. Now this morning, I have five marks on my chest– at first they looked like mosquito bites but the largest of them seems to have a bruise rowing up underneath. The whole area has tiny red dots like broken capilaries under the skin. Could these be bites from a cupboard spider?
I live in Michigan and my husband was bit by a spider and it is red, puss filled and hard like a golf ball-he keeps opening it so it can drain-it’s very painful and located on his thigh. It happened on Saturday night and here it is Thursday and is still sore. Any ideas of what kind of spider it was from and if he should get medical attention?
Hey…yesterday I woke up because my foot itched like crazy, when I look at it i had two large bright red bumps on my foot one about the size of a silver dollar and the other about half that. About ten to fifteen minutes later I felt a weird sting, almost like a mosquito bite, and then looked and there were two more bites only on my pants line they are about the same size as the ones on my foot. This morning i woke up with two more only a lot smaller…..I live in the Capay Valley Ca, I’m not sure what kind of bite they are but if you could give a little advise it would help a lot.

I live in central florida. About a week and a half ago i was moving some stuff around in my garage. Afterwards i had multiple cuts and scraps on my hands, and didn’t investigate any in particular. Later on in the day on one of my fingers, the skin started peeling away. Within the next few days i peeled off more skin, and the tip of my finger had pruned up like it had been in water for several hours. It stayed pruned for a little over a week, and now it has swollen back up and become red. For about a day it was a tad painful when pressed but now It is tender to the touch, and it feels like a blister but there is no bump or anything. Could this be a spider bite?
It is the weirdest thing I have ever had happened to my skin. I am going to make an arrangement to go to the doctors because i haven’t been able to find anything similar to my situation in any online research

about seven days ago a gosh dang spider bit me in the face square in the face on my right cheek and it hurts bad and its all red and swollen and it hurts so much bad and it got worse the 2nd day cause it was small and it got bigger and then the 4th day it was real big like the size of my whole cheek but with a little hard white part in the middle and my momma said it was nothing to worry bout but she didn’t seen it because she lives in Tennessee and I’m in north Carolina so i don’t believe her and it hurts real bad and if y’all can help or make it feel better or tell me what to do i sure would like it
I was near the woods in Northern VA yesterday. I felt a tightening pain on the inside of my finger where the knuckle bends. Immediately a small blue circle (blood) appeared under my skin. I described the feeling as having a warm pea inside my finger, though there were no raised bumps or swelling. I wouldn’t call it a burning pain, but a painful tightening of the area under the skin.
I didn’t see an insect or spider bite me, but a minute later I did see a red ant next to me. This morning the blue circle is not as defined and is larger, about the size of a nickel, and the area is not as painful. Can anyone shed some light on this? Was it a red ant bite? A spider bite? Should I get it checked out?

The dermatologist ruled out ringworm. It looks like a bulls eye to me. I have Lyme disease. We never found a tick on my husband & really has not been in any wooded areas. Any ideas b4 we see dc today.He also has had some dizziness,blurred vision, stomach, groin pain, cols sweats….
My leg has a small red bump I noticed last night and it was fairly large last night and hurt when I put my pajama pants on. I looked at it but thought it was a pimple but now I am not so sure. I feel sick to my stomach and earlier I had heat flashes. I dont know what this is really but I drank some water and it made my stomach feel a little better. but I still feel sick. Is this a spider bite? The bite bump has gone down but throbs when I sit down or walk.

Last night I must of got bit by a tiny spider (because I would of felt it if it was big) on my eye lid. The whole top and bottom of my eye is swollen. I only have a sliver left to see out of. My wife was recently bitten on the neck and scalp by what we believe was some sort of spider! ever since that time she has had a persistent headache! she has taken Tylenol but it doesn’t seem to help! Is it possible for the 2 to be linked? what should be our next step? Thanks!
So, I’m trying to figure out what kind of bite i have on my finger? 2 days ago while watching my brother play basketball, i felt a sharp pain in my finger. When i went to look at it, nothing was there, jus a red mark that didn’t really hurt at first . Later that night, my finger started to itch really bad and i jus thought it was a bug bit or something? Well jus yesterdayy, my finger started to swell and itchh really bad, and after a while it started turning red and formed a white ring around the redness?
About 5 minutes after itching it, two little dots formed on it that seem to pop out just good enough to be somewhat noticed. & Every few minutes a sharp pain will come to the spot for about 10 seconds, then it goes away . it’s starting to turn a very very very light purple.. Hi, I’m Lexie. I live in westville IL. Just on Saturday i went camping and woke up to a painful boil type spider bite. I went to the doctor yesterday they popped it seen the white zit in middle and prescribed me to mupirocin ointment, usp 22 grams. But o have started to notice 3 more pimple likes on my knee cap near the main bite. I’m not sure if they are bites to but they itch like crazy. Any clue on what spider && if the pimples are bites too.?
The attached pictures are of a bite that was received on Monday 7/5/10 — the pictures were taken Saturday 7/10/10.
I went to the doctor and he gave me Clyndamiacin and told me it was a spider bite. Any idea what kind it might be and what I should expect? It is very painful, on the back of my thigh it hurts with every move. The redness is more intense at the end of the day. Today it seemed like a pinhole area opened and it “leaked” a small amount of blood and clear liquid. The picture 007 shows the small dab of blood in the center.
Other symptoms include all over aches and pains, and general feeling of being run down.
Thank you for any help you can provide. I would love any suggestions on treatment options. The doctor said he feels it is a necrotic bite and it is going to turn black and the skin will die.

I’m from Greece but right now i’m for vacations to Puerto Viejo de Limon in Costa Rica. This village is near Manzanillo. Yesterday i was laying on the swing. Without to feel any bite i started to scratch right my hand and some minutes later i started to scratch my left hand. I thought that it was from mosquitoes, but the mosquito bite here it pains at the beginning but 15 minutes later you are ok. Today i realize that something wrong cause i saw my both hands to be swollen near the place i was bitten yesterday. I have no idea if it was spider or not. A local person told me that probably it is from spider.
I cannot see any sign from bite. I don’t feel strange and i don’t feel extreme pain. I just need to scratch it one or two times every 5-10 minutes.
I have to say that i put on these bites special liquids for bug bites not more than 30 minutes after i fell the scratch.

I’m not sure if what I have is spider bites. But basically there is two red bumps between my thumb and index finger and coming from that is a red trail I don’t know if its a vein that’s infected or why but it goes up all the way just below my under arm. The bumps itch like crazy but the red trail feels tender like a bruise but its kind of swollen. Any ideas?

hi, I’m out of town and i had a small bump that appeared as a bite so i scratched maybe a day or so i noticed what looked like a white head so i scratched it off but since i first noticed it it has gotten bigger and it has like heat coming from it and when i apply pressure it hurts kinda..help!!! I was trimming a willow tree here in southern Illinois on a hot afternoon and a few hours after that I was in a swimming pool when I noticed a bite on my front shoulder. I had a friend who works in a hospital look at it and he said it was for sure a spider bite but not sure what kind. He said it didn’t look like a brown recluse. It’s black in the middle, red swelling around it, and it itches really bad. 24 hours later now and it is still swollen. I would really like to know what kind of spider bit me.
I got bit multiple times a couple weeks ago on both feet. They seemed to go away for the most part then last night my feet started to itch, when I woke up this morning they looked like mosquito bites then all of a sudden got very red and have a watery light yellow puss in them (not a lot) but it drains and fills back up quickly. They don’t really itch now but my legs feel tingly from them.
to, #83- Tim. I have had 2 bites like that before the first one i popped the pimple like thing but it made it soar and swollen. The second one I left alone and it went away in about a week with no pain… if you ever get a bite like that it’s best to leave it alone.

Not sure if all of you have spider bites. Lots of insects can bite and cause problems such as these. Spider bites usually are not felt, Except a black widow. Most cases this spider leaves a huge bump like a mosquito just several times bigger. it usually has the 2 bite makings, because most widows are huge when they bite. Widows are found in moist dark places (under steps, in crawl spaces of houses in sheds, barns that use very low lighting).
They do have webs but are dense and small. I see them most under homes and under large wood or rocks. Widows won’t kill you but you may experince severe swelling, pain, fever etc.. depending on the the reaction to the bite and how allergic you are to this venom. The Brown Recluse is a bad boy spider! These guys hide anywhere were there is little traffic and very quite, clothes, shoes, outside sheds, wood piles, and around storage boxes. They bite because you disturb them. This guys love closets and hanging clothes, if you have found one of these guys you probably have more. You need to get rid of these guys they will breed in your house and be everywhere. You will know this guy when you see it. It doesn’t walk like a normal spider its sort of flat and loves to jump and will actually chase you! I have seen this first hand several times. Widows and Recluses are predator spiders meaning that don’t use large webbing to catch.
They use webbing to store and as an alert, however you will most likely see the and be bite by a reculse without a webbing. These two are nocturnal spiders, meaning they hunt and are most active at night. This is the number one reason for bites. Normally they are(sleeping) while we are active and the bit occurs when we distrube them. Mostll widows are solid black with red hour glass figure on bottom side of sider. It is female! The males are much smaller and to my knowledge don’t bite. The Reculse has a brownish to gray color and if looking down at it you can see a different color that resembles a violin it start middle of back and goes to the eyes. You will not feel this bite usually and normally you wont see the bite just what it is doing to your skin. It leaves a cirlce area around bite and rotes your skin from the middle outward. Depending on your bodies reaction it may get very big and very severe. It usually is treated by minor surgery to get ride of the dead areas. Yes this spider leaves a scare no matter how big
. I have muliple bites from spiders due to my cable tv job. The worst was the reculse by far. My advise is to find the insect that bit you and take it to the doctors office. Look at the spider and determine if it one of the two mentioned. The widow is obvious but the reculse is not and confused with other spiders. Most house hold spiders don’t bite and are harmless.
hi, on my left hand i have what appears to be to bites side by side assuming a spider bite..its swollen sore and itches and a clear puss type liquid coming from bite area my hand feels stiff and cramped…now today my arm seems stiff and swelling is worse.the bites only happen at night never in the day time…i have sprayed my home and have had no luck we are still being bit.any info would be helpful thank you so much.

my mother got bit by a spider while weeding her front bushes about 3 days ago. she said that it first appeared as a white pimple, which burst and she had a lot of white puss drain from it. now her finger is three times it’s normal size and her hand is quite swollen. there is redness that travels about 2-3 inches above her pointer finger on both sides of her hand. there is a large bump in the area of the bite and is really dark red with a small pin size hole. the finger is quite painful and she can’t bend it.
she says that it throbs and it keeps her awake at night. her doctor put her on antibiotics. i just wanted to know if there was something else she could do for the pain. i am worried about her she is 76 and not in good health. should she see a dermatologist or a doctor that knows about spider bites?
I am pretty sure i have a spider bite but I’m not for sure…..my bite or whatever it is is red all over in a circle as big as like 3 or 3 1/2 quarters…..in the middle is a dot thing its small with a little blackish gray inside the 1 small circle and its really sore all around! also…if you put your pointing finger from the bottom of your arm pit thats where its pretty much at it hurts when it gets touched and when i lay my arm down! so if you know what it is please help me! The other day my little sister got bit by a spider and she didn’t know what spider. But she said that she noticed it yesterday and it was that bad but now it’s getting worst and she thinks a black widow bit her. How can I tell if a black widow bit her? I got bit just below my ankle on Sunday morning (4 days ago). I didn’t feel anything at first, but then it started to itch, so I thought it was a mosquito bite. Monday it just kept itching, but Tuesday it started to swell and it’s tender to the touch. The bite has actually turned in to what looks like a bruise with a dot in the middle for the bite. The main bite area is about ¼” across. I’ve already seen a doctor for this, and will be seeing him again tomorrow, but he didn’t say anything about what he thought it could be. My dad said he thought it was a spider bite.
About 4 days ago I felt a small bump on the upper back part of my leg, thinking it was a mosquito bite, since I spend lots of time in my garden wearing skin exposed clothing. It did not itch, which I thought was strange, but it did start to ached a lot. Next day, the area looked like it had a tiny dark hole with purple then dark pink surrounded areas. Very sensitive and heaty. ON day 3, I decided to go to the Doctor and was glad I did. Found out I also had a 101 temperature (I didn’t feel feverish though). She explored the area and said it definitely was an insect bite. Since I live in the city, and have not been to a woodsy area prior to this happening, we ruled out a tick bite.
She prescribed an oral antibiotic and topical cream antibiotic to place on the area. Have to keep the area bandaged in the day when I wear clothing that covers that fits close to the leg, so the material does not rub and continue to cause infection. Also taking Tylenol which makes the pain subside. Still have a low grade fever (99.4) but that is due to the infection. Today is the 3rd day of antibiotics and I am noticing droplets of liquid coming from the area, which I feel is a good sign. Once this drains, the pain should go away and infection heal faster.
My advice to anyone who thinks they have been bitten by any type of insect and the area is abnormal (purplish, swollen, etc) is to take your temperature to see if you have a fever and SEE YOUR DOCTOR. Don’t mess around with a bite. Infections can spread and get into your blood and cause more havoc. The sooner you are put on an antibiotic, the sooner the healing process can begin.
About 4 days ago i was bitten by what i think was a spider but not real sure, i told my grandmother about it and she took me to the doctor and the doctor. said it wasn’t a spider bite but I’m still curious on the 1st day it was a tiny bump then on the 3rd day the swelling got from my elbow to about 5 inches away from my wrist its the 4th day and at about 1am i noticed a black dot in the middle and lots of redness i cant even sleep anymore i just want to know what it is so i can cure it and sleep again
I have a spider right on my behind, I didn’t really know what it was at first but it was red, swollen and it only itched, then it got worse, to the point where I couldn’t sit, if I sat I couldn’t get up and walk, it hurt for the transition. It started to drain and it freaked me out, I went to the emergency room and they gave my anti-biotics but now it’s just draining on it’s own and, not to sound gross, but its so uncomfortable, I, no lie, have to put a panny liner on every bottom outfit I wear, it’s annoying and wish it would just be over.
