Agujan,
The spider you found is an Orb Weaver, they are harmless and certainly not venomous. They spin new webs every daily and catch a lot of pesky bugs. Hope this helps!
Jen
i just found this spider in my southern home and i don’t know what kind it is. it is just plain brown, with black where the legs bend and at the tip of all appendages. it is still alive but it doesn’t move much. it is a small bulb spider where the bulb is a slightly darker brown than the top. when it does move it kind of is trying to crawl out of the empty clear milk carton i have it in. but it’s not a gal. milk jug so the spider is quite small. it keeps falling on its back. and it looks like it is sitting down when it is trying to crawl out of the jug. i am wondering what kind of spider it is, if it is poisonous and if there may be more in my house.
I came on here trying to identify a spider I found and I noticed
424 MR SOUL, 458, and 462 LAURA, those are ALL BROWN WIDOWS.
That spiked sac is not food, it’s an EGG SAC- as much as I hate to say it- GET RID OF THOSE.
Not good.
Now back to trying to find an answer to my newly captured beauty and her little sac of goodies.
>^:^<
OK from what I can see 220 JEFF, and 222 STACEY have the same spider I do.
Shiny, brown, divets, not really markings and I’d say could span about the size of a US quarter.
WHAT IS THIS SPIDEY?
The one I have now is the smallest one I’ve seen of this type, I have caught another at my last house at least twice the size.
I live in Portland Oregon, I have seen 2 here and another HUGE same spider in Walnut Creek California.
They can run up glass and move like lightening, the one I have now was in my garage downstairs, cold dry and it was in my boot box.
YEAH my BOOT BOX…. YIKES!
I have had her for almost 2 months I feed her crickets and have a water container, a straw for her to climb and a section of egg carton for a hide. I pulled the egg carton today because I noticed what looked like some mold happened because of the water dish spill when I set it in there. I separated mom from sac in 2 jars, the EGG SAC looks like a tan cotton ball that she hung inside the egg crate along with the cricket.. poor guy. We’re close to snow right now so if I throw her and the sac out- I fear they’re dead quick, but I also don’t need an army of potential problems here.
Any ideas?
I’ll send pics

Hi,
Please help and identify this spider or at least its family? My neighbor has these in his house too, and he’s saying it’s the brown recluse. I searched and it doesn’t look really close to it, but I still want to get a definite confirmation on whether it’s deadly or a harmless spider.
It’s pretty big, about 2 inches with its legs (add or take a few centimeters).
Thanks for any useful information.
I noticed itching on my left index finger mid-day on Tuesday December 15, 2009. That evening I felt a small welt. During the night my finger started hurting. In the morning I found a small 1/2″ reddish-purple welt that is very painful to the touch. I have no idea what or when something bit me. I am sending a photo taken 6:30am Wednesday December 16, 2009. I have not gone to see a doctor yet.
I mentioned I didn’t take a picture. I am so terrified of them, for no real reason that I know of, I have to smash and kill before they get away. Sorry. But truly how many purple butt, red leg spiders could there be. The spider, body and legs was between the size of a nickle and a quarter. Thank you anyways for noting my question. lynn, michigan
to april #28 I also have these spiders, I know alot of people think they are wolf or brown recluse spiders but they are not. they are called funnel web spiders(same family as brown recluse but not so dangerous) most spiders are poisonus but are not very harmful. I don’t think you have much to worry abot. just look up funnel web spiders
Last week in the bathroom closet I picked up a towel and on it was a small light brown/reddish colored spider. IT had a perfect red/orange hourglass on its back, not on its underside but on its back. I killed it right away.
We live in the Georgian bay area of Onatrio, an hour West of Barrie Ontario.
Then a few days later I saw a small black spider on my bed. I flipped and now I cant find it. I didn’t see its back.
But are there ANY other types of spiders that have hourglass shapes on thier back, not on thier stomache?
I’ve found a spider just like the one in #89 twice here in Florida, and I’d really like to know what it is. The first time we found it, it was already dead and we scooped it out of our pool. It was about the size of a female hand, minus the fingers and thumb, when we stretched out its legs. The second one we found ran out from a door frame when we went to unlock the door, ran out of the porch, lost a leg to a lizard (the lizard was a large anole), and quickly ran back over to us for safety with the lizard in hot pursuit. My boyfriend grabbed a machete and hacked it in half, but before he cut it we made sure to take a good look at its markings. BOTH of these spiders look exactly like a brown recluse to me, and the pool one had very clear markings with the violin on the back, but they’re so large… the second was about 4.5″ – 5″ with its legs out! We also found two other smaller ones, same markings, inside our home, and though they were much smaller they were still bigger than two quarters combined. My old dog was bitten by one of these spiders and developed a gaping, tumor-like sore and had to be put down. What is this thing we’re dealing with?
I grew up in Northern AZ and I always remember seeing a rather large web building spider with 2 horns on its back abdomen. I was never worried about it because they never came in the house but it was always fascinating to see an insect get stuck in its web and how fast the big spider would wind it up and save it for later. It seems like it was a redish brown color but it’s been years since I’ve seen one so I might be remembering wrong. I do remember that they always made the most perfect webs I’ve ever seen.
As kids we would always throw small bugs into the web and watch them do their thing. Once time we threw a rather large moth to one of them and it was apparently too large and the spider immediately went to work releasing it and then went to work rebuilding the web. They are the most interesting spiders I’ve ever seen. We always called them bull spider because they had those 2 horns on their back ends. But looking up a bull spider I see those are not them.
Any ideas what this spider is?
Hello,
We live in Connecticut and found this guy in our wood pile in late June. He was pretty big and scared us to the other side of the yard at first! Can you tell what kind of spider he is?
This nice little gal or guy has lived in my office for about two weeks and friends and neighbors are worried that I might wish I’d killed it.
She ( he ) is about and Inch and a quarter long in the body and I think the photos answer anything else that you might ask.
Thanks for your help.

I took it w/my phone. I was walking and got
sharp pain on my leg. I thought a wasp was stuck in my pants. I shook my
pants and this red bug about 1/8″ long fell out. I killed and and kept it.
It bit me a total of 8 times on my thigh. It made a red welt and hurt for
about 15 minutes. I treated w/a antiseptic.
I live in southern California ,,, san juan Capistrano. We have had rain
recently and live near a creek. Any ideas. First time in 10 years I have
been bitten or seen this type of bug.
Thx.
Tami
I found this ugly spider in my house, do you have any idea what it is?
I found this big guy on our house in November. Which is quite shocking because I live in Nova Scotia Canada and it gets quite cold in November here. This is definitely the biggest spider I’ve EVER seen. I would like to know what it is and if it is poisonous. I think that this spider is foreign because we don’t have spiders this big that I know of in Nova Scotia.
I attached a picture I took last summer of a spider near lake Ontario. Any help would be great. Thanks.
hi-
the spider we found this morning is someone new to us.
we live in north Georgia- about 45 miles north of Atlanta.
we caught him in a Halloween pumpkin treat basket. we threw in a standard lego for sizing. he looks to have a tan stripe running from his mouth along his back- but only half way. it stops at his midsection- waist area and his bottom is all black.
peace,
elizabeth
I live in Michigan and I have found two of these spiders in my room, and I was wondering if you could identify it and if its poisonous? This is the picture of the first one I found. Hopefully the picture shows up. If not, let me know.
thank you so much.
What kind of spider is this?
Randee,
The spiders you found are Black Widow Spiders, check out the section on Black Widows here: http://www.badspiderbites.com/black-widow-spider/
Hope this helps,
Jen
#1519 — That looks like a wolf spider which are very common. They are poisonous but its venom is not lethal.
I found this spider crawling in our front lawn and was amazed how brightly colored it is. I was thinking is was a marbled orb spider but not really sure. I would be pleased to hear from you if you could let me know what kind it is. I live in Central Mississippi and I have never seen a spider like this one.
Thanks,
Sabrina
TC,
The spider you found looks to be a (Common/American) House Spider. Typically you find them in dry, sheltered places like the wood pile, barns, other buildings… It preys mainly on insects. Their bite isn’t lethal, but can be dangerous.
Hope this helps,
Jen
Russell,
The spider you found looks like it is a type of Wolf Spider. Wolf Spiders come in different shapes, sizes and colors. You can read more about them here: http://www.badspiderbites.com/wolf-spider/
Hope this helps,
Jen
Naida,
The spider you found is definitely a Funnel Web/Grass Spider. The bite of these spiders is of low risk to humans, they are also non-aggressive. They are called “Grass Spiders” because you will rarely see one inside… usually they are outside in the grass.
Hope this helps!
Jen
Jodie,
It looks like you found a Selenopid Crab Spider…typically you see them more active in the summertime as with a lot of spiders. They prefer desert climates. At night they are active and are found sitting on walls and rocks – very still. They are distinctively flat spiders.
Jen
Elizabeth,
From the picture, although a bit hard to tell, this spider looks like it is a Black House Spider. Be careful, the bite of the Black House Spider is poisonous but not lethal. First aid and medical attention should be sought as soon as possible.
Thanks for sending in your image,
Jen

Jen
Sabrina,
It looks as if you found a type of Orb Weaver, they are usually very bright in color and have very interesting designs on them. Orb Weavers are typically harmless so you shouldn’t have anything to worry about. They build new webs daily to trap insects.
Jen
Kim,
The spider you found is definitely is a Comb-Clawed Spider in the Family Theridiidae. It could be a House Spider, or even a False Black Widow.
Jen
Dave,
You found a Banded Garden Spider. These guys are very active during the summer and live in grassy/shrubby areas. Very cool looking, but harmless!
Jen
Could you please identify this spider?
We recently bought a house in Yucca Valley Ca that was uninhabited for about a year. We’ve found several of these in the inside window sill in one of the bathrooms and kitchen, and this photo was taken on an outside wall. It’s about the size of a small tarantula. Did not seem agressive. Sadly, not knowing whether or not it’s poisonous, we had to kill it. I hope you can help us figure out what it is.
Thanks,
Ziva Sahl
Yucca Valley Ca.
I live in southern Idaho, and found this little guy outside on the top of a door. The first picture is the underside.
This spider was found in central Michigan in a lab. It is in a mason/canning jar.

Looks like a Jumping Spider. The bite but it’s nothing to worry about. They are very common and have several different varieties.
several years ago I went outside to fill my cats water dish and found in it a spider sitting in the water. It looked like a small tarantula small body with very thick legs I I cant remember if there was any coloring on the legs for certain but I’m fairly sure there was. the back had stripes of red yellow and white, I do remember that for sure red, yellow, white and, black was the colors on the spider. I went inside to look it up when I couldn’t find it I went back outside to get it and it was gone. never seen it since that day, nor have I met anyone who has ever seen one like it. I lived in Everett Washington then. I hope some one comes across this site soon and can give me insight as to the kind it was since it has bothered me ever since.
#20, #44, #77–#86 is correct. It is a Banded Garden Spider. I was looking to ID the spider I killed in my house.
#70, #82, #91–That cute little spider is called a “Spinybacked Orbweaver”. #82 wasn’t completely wrong… they have been nicknamed Crab Spiders because they resemble a crab with their spiny, crablike “shell”. However, that is not what they really are. Crab Spiders look totally different.
#70, #82, #91–That spider is called a Spinybacked Orbweaver. #82 wasn’t completely wrong… they are nicknamed Crab Spiders because their “shells” make them look like they’re tiny crabs. However, the real Crab Spider looks nothing like them.

Please help me identify this spider found in Redondo Beach, CA
Has anyone seen anything like this?? I live in Alabama and have NEVER seen anything like this in my house before!!
HELP!! Erika
There’s a spider hanging out on our balcony that I’d like to know more about. It’s about 2-3 inches long, with spindly red and black legs that have black hairy patches on them.
Its body is nearly an inch long, red and black with white markings.
I’m very spider-shy, but since it’s technically outside I’m willing to live with it as long as it’s not poisonous.
And it’s probably important to know that I live in South Africa.
Please email me answer. Maybe850 [at] gmail.com. I saw a spider that was a light tan body and a white abdomen with red speckles in lines running to the tip of the abdomen. Please tell me what it was.
i just found a spider that looks just like number 62 on this site. What type of spider is it and is it dangerous? i have a baby crawling around on the floor.
we live in northern Illinois but pic looks very similar
thanks,
ashley
I hope you can help me, a lady friend of mine found this spider in her shop and she brought this photo,
unfortunately its not very clear, but i was wondering if you could please help he and let me know what type of
spider this is.
I have attached the photo so hopefully you can assist me in this matter
Kind regards
Dwayne
I found this spider on the ceiling just above my bathtub. I smacked it with a fly swatter and was able to take these few pics of it. It has a small orange/red spot on the top tail end of it’s belly, but when flipped over, you cannot see anything but black. I moved its legs just to be sure that there was no orange or red markings on its underbelly. In pics 02 & 03, I put a standard size staple in for scale. It’s slightly less than a 1/4 inch in length (the way it is in the picture). Is this an ant mimic? Please tell me it’s not a redback. From the pics I saw on other sites, it doesn’t look like a red back to me, but I want to be sure. The spider I killed is not at all shiny. Also, pics 01 & 02 are the top of the spider and 03 is the bottom.
Melanie
This spider was found in Michigan. The picture shows it in a mason jar. Any idea what it is?
Thanks,
Chad
My grandson & I were fascinated by this beautiful spider in the flower garden. It is about 3/4 inch long and wove a gorgeous web. Would you help us identify it please?
Thank you in advance.
#70 is a crab orb weaver.
We’re south of San Jose, CA, in a rural area. Found this spider inside the house, might have come in under the door (need to check that weatherstrip).
It is in a 3″ diameter masons jar. I can try to get a better picture tomorrow if it will help, tell me from what angle would be best.
Leslie,Dee,Rick, and Ricky your spider sightings are of Giant lich orb weavers there are not deadly but if not cleaned can be.And bites rarely occur but be careful if they are bigger then a quarter they may have spiky hairs on there legs and back if they bite they can but there hairs on the bite and the bite WILL get infected. Leave the big ones alone if you want to catch them but on gloves and keep children away i hope this will help
Sir,
I have some collection of spider’s and want to do survey of them but i m suffering from problem of identification. Can you send or suggest some references useful for identification.
Thank you.
I am trying to identify a spider I found on a hike the other day. We were in eastern Tennessee, very close to the NC boarder, about 40 minutes west of Boone, NC. I saw a bright green spider on my boyfriends jacket. I’ve never seen one like this before. It’s body was very skinny, and bright green. It also had 1 red dot on it’s back. I took a picture, which I will send, though the quality isn’t great. If anyone can help identify what kind of spider this is it will be greatly appreciated!
I have a type of spider in my home that really freaks me out. I live in east Texas on a woodsy island. It is large, about the size of a half dollar is the biggest I’ve seen. I will put up a picture as soon as I spot another one.. It has a long thin pale red body with bright red legs also long and thin. I had gone to bed about 10 and then about 2am, I got up and in my restroom was a web stretching from my wall about 4ft into my shower. I knocked down the web and discovered the spider in my sink. It had a really strong grip on the sink. it took REALLY hot water to wash it down the drain. I have no idea what kind of spider it is, but I am pregnant and also have a 2 yr old and 18mo old in my home, so I would like to find out ASAP what kind of spider this is.
more on 1556.. my husband and I have both been bit by these spiders. the bites do not swell up much. they just get a little red around and open up enough to stick in a sewing needle and open it up enough to apply alcohol.
Hello, my name is Matthew and i live 30 miles south of San Antonio, I found a dark brown (body) with light brown spots on its back and butt, and light brown legs, and 3/4 inch in length; spider walking across my bedroom floor. It might have been attracted by my Python Natural Habitat Cage, Please help figure out what this spider is??? Thank you.
Can someone please help me identify this spider? I have found 2 of them and narrowly escaped being bitten. One was hiding in a clothes basket and another in a wrapped up towel on the floor. I live in South Georgia. Is it a brown recluse? I have a tiny dog, and I know it would kill her. How do you get rid of them? Thanks!
Hello –
Trying to ID a spider I saw last summer (09) on a dock at Lake George, NY. It’s size was the first thing we noticed. No kidding, now– it was as big as the top of a beer can, with it’s legs. Maybe a little larger. In a web, with LOTS of eggs. Camera had a dead battery, of course. Dark, shaped like a wolf spider, hairy. Big and bulky, not delicate with spindly legs.
I suppose it could have come on someone’s boat who pulled it behind their truck from another state.
Huge and scary
Thanks
I have no photo to send. I was walking at Kenneth Hahn State Park in Los Angeles, CA after we had a lot of rain. It was not raining today when I saw the spider. It was on the wall of a small canal area in the park, away from the water. It was black with what looked like white stripes and very, very hairy. It was approximately about 3-4 inches in diameter but it’s legs were not straight out at the time. It was big and I got away from it very quickly. I’ve never seen a spider that looked like this before and I am very curious as to what type you think it is. Sorry about the photo but I had no camera at the time. Hopefully the description is good enough for you to figure it out. Thanks! Lita.
My kids found a small spider (8 mm) behind a chair in the corner of our living room. We live in Pennsylvania. The spider has light brown legs with darker stripes. The body is dark and has three yellow diamond shaped spots connected in a row. Thanks.
Melissa Meyers
to rick, #64. the spider you have shown here is a relatively harmless orb weaver, nothing to worry about other than the creepiness. they are all over the place here in northern Oregon. the bite is small and itchy for a day or two, then its gone.
to Brooke, #1562. that looks like a young male hobo but I can’t see its markings clear enough to be sure, I’ve dealt with hobo’s a number of times and they are seen frequently here in Oregon. be watchful of them if it is. OH! by the way, smashing them will attract more of them since they release a hormone when crushed, use bug spray and afterward, clean the area with pinesol.
to Mike, #707, that looks like your average daddy long legs, they have very toxic venom, but their fangs are too short to break the skin so no worries. we used to play with them as kids.(my brother and I).
I found two spiders on the ceiling of my apartment in southern California (one in the living room, and another a couple of days later in the bedroom). Sorry, no photos because I squished them. They are black and furry, with a large red dot or sac on the bottom. Even when crawling, they appear to be round (the legs don’t go out very far). They are small, maybe 1/2″ to 5/8″ across including legs. I haven’t found any photos anywhere that look like these. Anyone know what these are?
hi everyone ,

Ashley
Visiting again.. hoping to find Jen or Melanie.. or any of the people who seem to have answers.. still wondering one year almost one year later what the spider was that my dd brought home from Florida.. it looked exactly like #298 with an egg sac underneath.. Thanks again!
I found a nearly identical spider this morning in my 4 year old daughter’s bed. I found the thorax+legs+mandible part smashed on top of a book. I figure that was the whole spider. Opening up the blankets I found a very odd thing and had no idea what it was until we caught an identical spider tonight. That odd thing was the oversize abdomen of the spider. I’ll send the photo for ID. Can anyone tell me what this spider is, if its poisonous, why we’d be seeing multiple at the same time? We recently moved into this apartment and are all sleeping on mattresses on the floor – maybe it’s time to run out and get a few bed frames! Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jay
Just to add a few details to post #1572 above. The spider was caught on a pest glue trap which was set out under a chair in the TV room and we’re in San Diego, CA.
In my house was a big spider. 1/2 inch oval shaped. top of body was the color of the outside of a coconut shell (brownish). The legs and underside are bright red. Except that the stomach is pure black with a perfect white cross in the middle of the black color. Could you help identify it. Thanks much. I live in Fremont Calif. East Bay.
So I was going to take a shower when I noticed this very small orange spider with large arms on the ceiling. It is about 2 centimeters long, orange, with long extending arms and living in Florida. Please tell me if it is dangerous.
I found these 2 spiders in my house in Upstate NY area and am worried if they might be poisonous around my young son.
One I thought was possibly a Hobo spider and the other darker one with a marking similar to a cross on its back I am not sure if that’s a black house spider or what.
These 2 were the biggest spiders I have seen indoors, not counting a zoo, and I know to some of you thats not a big spider but upstate NY it is! If you know what it is please help, thanks.
i have found a brown spider the size of about a dime maybe smaller. it had a small light brown cross on its back cam neone help. i live in northern ohio.
I live in Cleveland Ohio and I stay on a slap my backyard is equivalent to a swamp as the snow is melting. I found a large (the largest spider i have ever seen) black spider come out of my drain .. this is the second one this week and this one is larger than the last . it has about 5 long legs and is all black with body the size of a nickel. Can you tell what this can be with no picture and is it poisonous?
Comment #916 by Valerie featuring reddish-colored spider with pincher-like fangs….we have found several of these particular spiders in our basement in the past 1 1/2 yrs. Seems to me that we’ve seen them during the warmer months. The first time I saw one, I had just laid several bags of new mulch out in the yard earlier that day. Then, we found 4-5 more in weeks that followed. Then, it’s been one here, one there… I was leery d/t the reddish color and the shiny-smooth body…typically, in nature, red and shiny is a BAD sign. Also note that these types of spiders are somewhat aggressive, in that, a couple have drawn back at me when I’ve come at them to look at them. Please respond with a classification or ID of this type of spider. Would like to research it. Does make me nervous with 3 children and indoor pets.
R/T my first Comment #1579…Same type of spider featured in photo in Comment #676 by Armando… Thanks.
Same type of spider noted in photo in Comment #676 by Armando…curious as to what kind of spider it is!!!
I came to this website to search for a very strange spider that I had found in my house and I came across it. Number 62. I get a fair amount of these spiders in my house and I have no idea what it can be. They appear to be seen more in the spring and summer and appear to be mostly ground dwellers. It looks venemous because of the colors but they dont seem to be aggressive. I dont have a picture of one but there fangs for their size body are big and I’d hate to get bit by one. If you have any idea of what kind of spider this is can you please tell me? Thanks, Tony from Illinois.
Help,
Today I had a spider that gave me the willie’s. This is hard to do as I don’t mind spiders in the least. I have been unable to locate the name of it. Can someone help please.
The body was the size of a nickle, round and black. The butt portion was alot smaller than the main body, was red and shaped like (). The main body was round and looked kind of like it was a spider on steriods.(Bulky) It looked kind of furry/hairy. The legs were not porportioned to the body as they were small and fitted into the body kind of tight. (No leg span). It looked kind of like it had pinchers in the front close together and centered. Please help.
Thank you

I’m trying to identify a spider we found among riprap (rocks) on our property. I live in North Scottsdale, AZ in the U.S. My property is very much desert – we boarder the national forest (all desert). I didn’t see the web. I would like your help identifying it out of sheer curiosity. Large, smooth abdomen with almost tarantula-esque legs. It was rather large – not as large as a tarantula is out here, but larger than any other type of spider I’ve seen.
Many thanks for your help!
Hello,
I live in Southern Brazil (on the island of Florianopolis, in the State of Santa Catarina), in a rather countrified location with my family. Today we saw this spider making its way across our floor and I captured it and took some pictures (please see attached). Is this a Brazilian Wandering Spider or something else please?
Many thanks,
Philip de Souza
I found this spider in my window it’s wed thatt seems to be thick I was just wondering what kind it was because i have a small child and i don’t want to take a chance and get bitten by this spider.
I live in North Carolina and I just want to know what it is that way I know how to get rid of it this isn’t the first one I’ve had.
I got bit today by a nasty little spider. My first reaction was to flick him so I did not get a picture and now my finger is swollen and throbbing where I got bit. Definetly a bad bite.
This was a tiny spider with short legs. His legs are shiny black as well as his head. His body was shiny red. Did not notice any hair or markings.
I live in Northern California. Any help identifying this guy would be appreciated. Thanks
I live in Upstate/Central NY. My home is in a pretty wooded area and every spring there are many spiders that invade my home. There are 2 different kinds that are all over. I have a picture of one of them, the smaller and more frequent of the 2. If I walk around and search I literally will find AT LEAST 10 of these things on my walls and ceilings. Sometimes in groups and certain rooms like my bedroom, the living room and office has the most. I also get a lot of cobwebs around the ceiling area of the house. I don’t know if its coming from these guys or now, but it looks like stringy dust.
I know exactly the kind of spider that is on picture #62.
It is called a woodlouse spider, I have four of them as specimens for my Entomology (even though they are arachnids, I still like to study them.)
We keep a pet tarantula in my house.
You have no fear of these woodlouse. They are not poisonous. As for your bite, I don’t know where that came from.
P.S if you come across a tarantula also, you don’t need to be afraid of them ether.
what kind of spider is black with white stripes running down the butt of it? it also looked like it had black legs with white dots on them.
I live in Southern California. This spider’s shape is similar to a black widow but its only about half the size and has no underbelly markings. I found it in a sweater I left in the garage for a couple days. I wasn’t bitten. Haven’t seen one like this before and would sure appreciate any information you have about it.
My second post today. Southern California resident – I’m about an hour North of San Diego in what I believe is the Spider capital of America. These are pictures of the fourth spider I’ve submitted here asking for help in identifying. I’m thankful for all past responses and would appreciate any info you have on this one. I found this one after removing some siding to replace a window in my home. He’s no bigger than a dime and darts around very quickly in an almost ‘fly-like’ manner.
Thanks again

Hi: I live near Richmond, Va. I awoke in the middle of the night to see a spider on my indoor, outdoor thermometer, near my bed. I was too afraid of it to get close enough to get a picture, but I killed it. It was completely flat, and looked like a small star. It had white specks all over its legs and back. Measured about 1 inch in diameter, but flat like a piece of paper would be. I am so afraid of spiders, and was very upset about it. It was too close to my bed for comfort. I have searched for quite some time today, and haven’t found anything that looks exactly like it. Would you have any idea what kind it might be? Thanks so much for your help, Janice
Looking to get info on the spider #62. We found it outside near our hot tub. It has some pretty nice fangs!
Hi, I found a large red spider over my mothers door frame in our apartment located in West Covina, Ca. I have never seen one like that before it had a large sac like bottom half. I killed it but before i could get a picture my mother flushed it. I am trying to identify it to see if it is venomous. My mother has M.S so her immune system is already weakened. If you have picture of something like this please send so i can identify.
Thanks
