Vicki’s post from Feb 3 at the top of the page, did you ever find out what spider bit your child? My seven year old has that same exact marking. It looks like a bulls-eye like you said. It started out little and keeps getting bigger. I’m really worried.
I have taken my daughter to the doctors and they gave her a steroid creme and it is not doing any good. The doctors pretty much just keep saying its a spider bite but I already know that. I’m afraid that it won’t go away and will damage the tissue after so long.
Everyday it gets a little bigger. The bigger it gets the more I worry about the area of the tissue damage that could occur. If you have found out what it is or how to treat please help.
i woke up yesterday and my ear was hurting real bad and it was swollen. but today i discovered 2 dots right next to each other that look like fang marks, like a vampire just tiny. I’ve been searching for two days now can anyone tell me what bit me i have no fever just pain where i was bitten any help i would be very thankful. Thanks.
I woke up yesterday morning to find 2 blister near my elbow. One blister had already popped. I also noticed I had a few other red spots going up my arm toward my shoulder. The red spots when away as the day went on. I don’t feel any real pain from the blisters just curious as to what kind of spider it could/would be.

I just got bit a today by something. I believe it was a spider. I have this bruise type look to it and a red-ish dot. Its painful to touch. I have ice on it right now and it seems to look like its getting better but I’m scared it might come back I’m not sure what to do.
My mom got bit bit by what we think is a spider 5 bits in one spot. she got bit yesterday morning and, now her arm pit is swollen were she got bit it hurts really bad.
I have a really bad swollen hand. A red dot right next to my pinky on my right hand and makes my hand feel likes its unable to move. I also have one on my thigh but with two red dots, my leg is numb what do i do please help me I’m only 12.
I don’t know what this could be. It looks like a bullseye, middle is a perfect circle around the 2 purple dots and that’s white. Then its red to make a 1/2 dollar size, its tough skin where the final red circle is. So only 2 perfect circles and the 2 fang marks in the middle. HELP please
What kind of spider bite is this, or is it even a spider bite?
My son and I were at a class field trip today at our local zoo’s rainforest. During the day he mentioned that his ankle itched. I didn’t think much of it until we got home and he took off his shoes and socks. We found that he had a swollen area about the size of a quarter with a pus center, that was about 6 hours ago. Now it is about the size of a 50 cent piece and the center pus pocket has also grown. He has a low grade temp of 99.9 and is complaining of a headache and weakness. Not sure if I should take him to the emergency or not any advice? I could text a picture. He has also developed a red splotch about two inches above the original site.
My husband was bitten by some insect. We think it must have been a spider. It caused a place about two inches wide and an inch high filled with fluid to appear on his forehead. He went to the doctor and was given antibiotics for the bite. He began vomiting and about a week later his jaw locked and his neck was stiff. Diagnosis: Tetanus from a spider bite.
Twenty-seven days in the hospital. He will be recovering for a long time. We have no idea what type of spider it might have been. He was not aware of when it happened only when the spot began itching. It was already filled with the fluid by the time it began itching. I suggest that everyone keep their tetanus shots up-to-date.

I got this red spot on my arm pit 5 days ago it didn’t really hurt till today so I went to the doctor and they said it was a brown recluse. I didn’t be live them but now I have to take bactrim I don’t know how they will effect me. I’m only 12 so maybe they won’t do anything to me. Well I hope not.

It does not seem like you have a spider bite, it sounds like bed bugs.
I was wondering about a spider bite. Both me and my two year old daughter were bit two times. My bites are on my wrist not really painful but itches. My daughter has the same two bites on her inner arm but it doesn’t seem to bother her at all.
Although I am concerned since I’ve never encountered any spider like this although I don’t have a picture I know that it has a small brown body with very long brown legs and is very fast moving. I have looked every where online and couldn’t find any information on these spiders.

I must have been bitten last Friday, November 11th.
FIRST DAY: I woke up to go to the bathroom Saturday morning and I felt a soreness in my groin. I took my magnifying mirror and looked at what was causing this discomfort. I saw
what appeared to be a spider bite. It had a red center about the size of a pea and was red and swollen around the area.
I took both sides of this swollen bite and squeezed real hard to see what would come out.
I noticed a lot of pink sticky discharge, quite a bit of it as I continued to squeeze this out until I hoped it was all gone, I squeezed it so hard that both sides of the bite were together and felt as though nothing more was in there. At the time I noticed that some of this discharge (venom?) even fell on the bathroom floor, a little puddle about the size of a dime. I put my finger in it to see what it was and it was pink and sticky too. Boy, I sure used a LOT OF PRESSURE on the bite, I just squeezed and squeezed that bite and I am glad that I did because I expect that it was venom that I squeezed out.
As I had to wait until Monday when my Doctor’s office was open I also used Hydrogen Peroxide on it. (I am a firm believer in having a fully stocked medicine cabinet as best
I can and waiting for these items to come on sale even though I did not need the meds right away I knew that I would probably need them in the future).
SECOND DAY: the bite area looked a little calmer but the area of the bite had enlarged to about the size of a shelled peanut. There was white flaky skin all around this area. I continued with the hydrogen peroxide and tried not to think about it until Monday. Haaa! Good Luck!
THIRD the bite looked a little larger with the accompanying white flaky skin around it. I continued with the hydrogen peroxide and said a little prayer and wondered if my angel was watching and knew about this disaster and if so, what was my Angel going to do about it.
Today the bite looked even larger. I phoned the Doctor’s office and began the regular process of setting up an appointment. She was looking at an opening in his schedule for about a week ahead. Somewhere in between I told her that I think it is a spider bite. She then said that she does not think that I should wait a week to see the Doctor and that I should call the next morning to see if there was a cancellation.
FOURTH DAY: The bite looked a little calmer but with the white flaky skin around the bite.
I phoned the Doctor’s Office the next morning, which was Tuesday, and the Nurse said that she had a cancellation for 1:45 that afternoon. I said that okay I would be there.
Well, I phoned Handy Dart, a transportation system that comes right to your door and delivers you right to the door of your destination and will even open the doors for you, for seniors and disabled persons. The driver helps you up the stairs into the van if f you need the help (I do not, but it is there for those who do need it), They charge $2.50 per trip, if you buy the bus tickets it will only cost $1.90). tWhen I called the dispatcher of Handy Dart she told me that same day scheduling is almost impossible , I went on stand-by but they still could not give me a ride to the doctor’s office that day.
So I phoned the Doctor’s Office back and told the Nurse that I would not be able to attend my appointment. She said that I should apply Hydrogen Peroxide to the bite and an anti biotic cream (I used Polysporin – Fast Heal). She told me that if I have any further problems with it that I should call the Doctor’s Office.
The medical insurance is income based here (I pay nothing for the medical insurance as I have a low income rate), so I really have no reason to not have the Doctor take care of the bite. I also live just about 4 blocks from a major hospital which I can go to if I have to go to the Emergency Section on a weekend, at no charge to me.
I looked at the bite again this morning and the bite area is about an inch long (this bite is longer than it is wide). Still has the white flaky skin surrounding the bite. There is just a very small swelling? at the site of the bite and there has been almost no swelling since the first day when I squeezed the daylights out of it. I am glad that I did because initially it was a large swelling.
I continue to keep watch over the bite and if anything about it further troubles me, (since I believe that the venom is gone), then I will either go to see my Doctor or go to the Emergency Room at the Hospital.
I did not send a picture of the bite as it is in my groin, a very personal area. Even did not really want the Doctor to look at the bite there.
I will continue read this Forum on spider bites and read your experiences with this real problem, you make me feel better. Thank you.
While eating dinner in a restaurant in Puerto Rico about 30 years ago my wife experienced a sharp bite (sting?) on her leg. It hurt quite a bit then became red and formed a bump. Ever since then, several times a year, this area forms a hard scab (?). She picks at it (quite painful when she picks at the core) and pus + hard bits of material come out and then it bleeds a little.
She then puts a band aid over it and leaves it alone – it heals but then the cycle repeats itself (hard core, pus, etc.). Can anyone tell me what type insect (spider) could cause something to last this long? Again, this happened in Puerto Rico about 30 years ago.

I was sitting on the floor of one of the college’s hallway when suddenly I felt this itch on my shoulder and another one next to my arm pit, I thought it was a mosquito but it couldn’t because I was wearing a sweater I ignore the itch until I came home and took my sweater off I noticed I had the area swollen and red, I’ve been bitten by mosquitoes in the past and none looked so swollen like that.
The next day the two bites were more swollen and now they had like two holes, not the type that you could see my inside but two holes with a greenish with black spot in it. I’m scared of what this is, This happened exactly one week ago and today it got more swollen than it was a week ago, should I go to the doctor?? Please help!!!

If you are feeling sick and have a fever with pain it wouldn’t hurt to schedule an appointment with your doctor to get checked out, that way you can be sure and your doctor will be able to properly diagnose you and get you the treatment you need. If you call your doctor’s office and tell them your symptoms they will be able to tell you whether or not you should wait for a scheduled appointment or go directly to the ER.
Hello, to everyone. I just moved into a basement apartment with alot of woods surrounding my house. I have been bit on my leg 2 weeks ago sounds alot like everyone one big red spot with a bunch of little like a cluster of bites I did not waste any time went straight to the Doc strong antibiotic went away. Got bit again same thing went right to ER can not tell what bit me but again strong antibiotic . My question is how many times u go on antibiotic don’t you get immune to them worried N.Y
I got bit by something that got me good on both my arms and on my hands. It itches so bad and when i itch it it makes all the other bites go nuts. this was Friday in my bed its now late Tuesday night and its worse, and also found another spot i got bit.
on the back of my leg and it looks like it bit me like six times on the same area on my leg. they are extremely painful and itch like nothing i ever had before. and they seem to scab up and have black holes in them, i have been feeling sick and very tired since this happened. i live in Las Vegas Nevada. Not sure what kind of spider has bitten me but should i go to the ER.?
I feel like I’m burning up with fever. i have taken some antibiotics i had here at the house for days, no improvement. they just seem to get worse and now a few of them seem to be getting a red like going up my leg and arms. I want to know what kind of spider would continue to keep biting me and only on both arms and one leg. very sick and scared.

I found for some reason this year has been really bad for spiders. I’ve read and looked at your pictures, and I have found that’s whats been biting me in my sleep. I’ll have one area on my leg that really itches and burns and turns red, with the center having pus in the middle Even though I keep my home sprayed, I’ll see a spider every now and then.
I was bitten 2 days ago by what I believe was a spider. I felt an immense pain and brushed something out of the end of my coat onto the ground. I had a small raised red area immediately around the bite and the redness spread out from there. I had generally localized sever pain which felt like I was getting bit again and again even though nothing was there. Over the next few hours severe muscle pain and joint aches spread down into my finger and up my arm to my shoulder. I could not lift anything with that arm and generally just had to keep it still. Within 3 hours the bite area was a small mark but the muscle aches and joint pain continued through out the night even spreading into the front muscles of my chest. I never developed shortmess of breath, itching or the typical anaphalactic(sp) shock symptoms. The doctors office treated me like I was nuts (the bite happened at work). Has anyone ever had this reaction? I did some research and thought maybe I was bitten by a bold jumping spider.
The spider bite could of took your hand off so watch out and be careful and watch your back.
I awoke with a raised red round area on my leg on Sunday. It was itchy, burning some ,raised and spreading. By 8pm it was about a 5″diameter area. It had a brown dot in the center about like an ink pen would make. I took 50 mg Benadryl about 10 hours later called a physician friend who had many years experience- and he injected it deep beside the bite with about 1cc of a steroid. The spreading burning itching continued but the spreading of the redness stopped. I took more benadryl before bedtime.
The next day (about 36 hours after the spider bite) I went to a pharmacist friend who zapped it with a 25 ?amp??? tazer made for spider bites. (this was a mild one – just stung at the site.) It felt better immediately. Much less stinging/itching severity immediately. I took 50 mg Benadryl that evening and every evening for several days. The next day (60 hours after the bite) I went to an “urgent care center” very concerned about the wound.
I am an RN and thought the tissue was probably damaged due to the deep tissue density, the purple color, and heat from the area. I felt that I’d eventually have to have surgery and wanted to start a record for the treating doc to have. I even considered just going on to see a surgeon to establish a treatment record with him. I also wanted a test for Lyme disease in case it was that.
But I saw a physician at an urgent care center who prescribed an antibiotic and said he thought it was a “bad skin infection”… It was getting darker and still was deep and felt firm about 2 inches around the bite. He prescribed an antibiotic Cefprozil 250 (two tabs twice a day) but I misread the label and only took one tablet that night.
I awoke the next morning and the swelling and redness was almost completely GONE. 5 days after the event the lingering thing is the black spot. I’m still taking the antibiotic but know that it was probably not the thing that helped.
6 days later-Skin was clear and no puffiness, itching, redness, – nothing! Small marks where the tazer zapped look like pin pricks in a circle and the dot in the middle where it bit me. That’s it!
BTW – I also found the dead -confirmed- “brown recluse spider” on the floor beside where I keep my pajamas! I have photos of all this- spider and wound and wish I could show them.
Another thing I used was a product called “Stops the Sting” that has been a miracle drug for wasp and bee stings. It relieved the itching.
This is the fastest I’ve ever seen a wound heal and I worked as an RN for 25 years!
these spider bites are so gross and i have always wondered about 6 years ago my dad got bit by a spider or so we thought it was a spider. He was on drugs at the time and we didn’t know we now wonder was it a spider bite or was it just an effect to the drugs? It was a small hole in his left leg and it was red he never went to the doctor but in about a year it went away. he still has a large scar about the size of a cotton ball.
I had a pain in my stomach area when I touch it then when I looked at it was red with a white dot its getting hard and it hurt so I put sea salt from the kitchen and sat in some water and poured it on the bite and the white stuff and blood came out.

I woke up this morning with bad pain in the side of my head and behind my ear and down my neck. Skin tender to the touch. I think it may be a spider, did not see any spiders. A couple of days ago I killed a fuzzy looking black spider in my bedroom. The gland under my jaw is slightly sore and the middle of my forehead is red and warm to the touch, temp. elevated two deg. I don’t feel real good and no appetite.
Do you think I should see the dr.?

Hello, my grandbaby was bitten a few hours ago, we do not know what kind of spider it is. Someone told us to put onion on the bite and it will draw out the poison. Is this true?
I took my 19 month old to the doctor yesterday because she had some spots on her leg well the doctor said they were spider bites and i would really like to know what kind of spider bit her. the weird thing is i haven’t seen any spiders at all and no one else has been bit and i don’t let my daughter out of my site. the bites started out looking like red bug bites and then formed into a red round dry bumpy spot. please help i would like to know how long they will last and if they will get any worse?

I had a spider bite on my leg. It kept swelling up and spreading if that happens to you get a medicine called Ivyrest. You can find it at CVS.
When I was in Missouri visiting my grandparents, I had three little bumps on the back of my knee. They were in a PERFECT, and I mean PERFECT line. I didn’t know what it is, so I just left it alone. It was itchy, that’s all. It wasn’t Poison Ivy, i was wearing skinny jeans the day I got it. It has healed, I think it was Mosquito. And, sorry bout your horse! I love horses!
i think i got bit by a spider it is very painful and has been swelling for a few days now and i’ve put ice on it but its very tender to touch i don’t know what to do any suggestions?

I was sitting in the grass outside my house and i noticed after i got up i had a small bite on me and it looked similar to an ant, and with my sensitive skin i thought that made it more red than an ant bite would usually be. but waking up this morning that bite has increased about the size of a coke can and is terribly swollen. i have no idea what bit me but im now thinking it was a spider. any help on what i can do to treat this myself would be helpful.
Can anyone tell me what spider or insect bite is shown on page 3, picture 13. I have 2 of these bites on me. 1 on my shoulder and 1 on the back of my neck behind my right ear. They are very painful, the 1 behind my ear is causing me headaches and my right ear is clogged and I hear an echo. I am wondering if I should go to hospital emergency room.

I was hanging clothes and stepped into a dirty pile in the basement. All of a sudden something bit me no my foot hurts and burns. It feels numb I have no idea what it was.
HI!!! I was bit by a orangeish/blackish/brownish spider more orange though! I felt a really bad pinch and then it bit me again! I know its a spider cause i was moeing and it jumped on me and then bit me twice once on the shoulder and another on the chest! it is a fast spider! if anyone out there is a doctor please tell me!
I woke up 3days ago and had 7-8 punctures on my side. Skin was slightly red and stinging. The next day the marks had turned to blisters. Today I’ve noticed the blisters are gone but the marks are dark,almost a deep purple like blood blisters under my skin, and one place has almost spread into another bite area. Feeling sort of nauseated off and on, hot/cold flashes, and still burns to touch. Can you help me figure out what I need to do?
Thank you in advance for your time in hearing about what i think could be a spider bite. I live outside Baton Rouge, Louisiana and last night while in my yard playing with my dog ran through a spider web. I noticed no spider nor felt as if i was bitten. Two – three hours later i started to get itchy on different parts of my body but didn’t notice any pain from a bite. This morning I woke up scratching my lower arm finding it swollen nearly from the elbow to 2-3 inches from my hand. The swollen area is about 6 inches long and almost 3 inches wide. There is no identifiable pain from a bite but i have noticed a small area, white in color which resembles a hyperdermic needle stick. There are two but one is more pronounced than the other.
This particular area about the size of a fifty cent piece is harder than the other swollen area. I also remember waking up in in bed after feeling what could have been a small spider run across my hand the night before, but no indication of any bite. I’m still having itching spells off and on from my head down to my legs and my swollen arm more pronounced with itching but not constant. Any ideas?? Thanks
Some of these pictures posted are gruesome. I suggest checking in to a hospital if you have serious rashes or extreme pain. You might be dead before you get a reply here.
Does anyone know what kind of spider and/or insect bite swells up a little bit and after 24 hours has a blister form up over the bit area. The pain level is low and the bite area is about the size of a nickle.
photo #21 is not a spider bite. i get these all the time its a hair follicle that’s become inflamed because of a allergic reaction. mine are caused by deodorant and i have yet to find a deodorant that doesn’t cause this and they hurt really bad. i just wanted to say this because the person who posted this needs to get to a doctor to see what they can do for them. DON’T try to pop them open.

i got bit once i was like 9 years old and i got bit by a black jumping spider i was sitting outside of my aunts house and it jumped and i freaked and it got the top of my foot. i put cortozone cream on it for about a week and it was gone and keep lots of ice on it and if that don’t help soak in a Epsom salt bath for 15 minutes.!!!!

On Wednesday I woke with a small bump on the left side of my bottom lip. At first I thought it was a fever blister starting. Later it hurt a lot more with a white head. So it thought it was a painful pimple, I popped it and that is when it started the worst burning feeling and so hot. That was at 10:00pm,and by 1:30am my lip had swollen 4 times its size. I could look down and see my lip perfectly with my gums threw my chin and in my throat. Went to the D.r. and she thought it was a spider bite but “wasn’t sure”. So now its Saturday and with antibiotics it still hurts. With pain and swollen and looks terrible. Everyone’s stories in one way or another sound like mine. I just hope it stops hurting. Any old wise tails out there to try. Mind is open……….

The next morning in was hard like there is something in there in looks like a zit, I opened it and there came something out that looks like water. Wow bites are bad these days all bites don’t heart because they are not poison.
Two weeks ago after doing yard work I woke the next morning with a big red bump about the size of a quarter on my left forearm.I thought maybe it was some kind of yard poison but I was careful to wear long sleeves and gloves.That night I noticed it was getting worse and redness and swelling had spread through the entire part of my forearm along with terrible itching.I proceeded to rub alcohol on it and saw that in the red bump were two small bumps each with two puncture holes.I knew then it was some type of spider.I kept it clean by using antibacterial soap,peroxide and iodine and then placed a bandage with triple antibiotic for the healing and hydrocordizone for the itching. It took a little time but it worked and saved me from a doctor bill!
Earlier today my hip started hurting and now I’ve got a puffy red patch on my hip the part that hurts is the ovalish shaped part in the middle of the patch. It really hurts and I’m not really sure what I should do about it. I don’t know if it’s a spider bite or not so I don’t really want to go to the doctors, it’s late anyways. The red patch is getting bigger and the middle part is getting redder.

Can anyone help me figure out what these lint looking bugs I find all over especially attached to pieces of my hair that have fallen out ? They seem to especially love my hair that has fallen out it looks like fuzz or lint but when I pick up the strand of hair they are hard . We got new tenants upstairs and I’m scared they may have brought something into our home! I’m very itchy and feel little bits sometimes however my husband feels nothing! I had exterminators come and they found nothing ! Can some one please help they also are on our clothes and it’s def not lint or fuzz

I would put ice on her eye to reduce the swelling and put a cold rag on her forehead so the bite won’t hurt. Make her sit up because if the insect was poisonous and she laid down; the poison would get to her head and could possibly have brain damage. I’m NOT a doctor, so please, see your doctor for spider bites right away so it could be treated. Oh and put neosporin on the bite.

I live in a pretty old apartment and it is easy for spiders and other creepy crawlies to get in here. I have seen some pretty big Grey hairy spiders here, Boulder CO. The other day I found myself itching the same place over and over and finally noticed I had a spider bite. At first it looked to be like a mosquito bite, but now is is bruised and has a little bruise next to it. I know it isn’t a brown recluse, wolf spider, or hobo spider, but I am still concerned. Please help.
We live in rural North Central Thailand. I have several pics of a spider that are plentiful here and supposed to be poisonous. I have pics of a medium size one but they get up to twice that size. They move extremely fast and are inside & outside our house. I don’t know how to send you the pics via this site, please advise. thank you!!

I have something that appears to be a spider bite in a very private area of my body. A few days ago it came up like an infected hair root around a hair follicle. So I popped the bump. Well now it is festering and there is a hole there from all the puss and scabbing that it is doing. I have been keeping it open and cleaned to prevent infection. It’s red swollen and very very tender. Should I go to the doctor, or continue to try to treat at home?
I don’t exactly know if I have a spider bite. I felt this small bump underneath my skin one time when I was rubbing my neck . In the middle it’s a darker pink the the skin surrounding it. If this is a spider bite could you help me identify it.

I woke up three days ago with two painful and itchy blister looking marks on my left wrist. It appeared to be a spider bite, and my boyfriend (not a doctor) said the best thing to do was to lance it and drain the poison. He did so and since then it is spreading out and is red and hot. I’m wondering if I should see a doctor or not. I don’t want it to get substantially worse, and it’s really painful now. Any thoughts on a course of action or what type of spider it may have been????
**I have pictures but I’m having trouble uploading them for some reason….the initial bite marks are 2 millimeters apart and the spreading redness and swelling is at this point the size of a penny, and there is a pretty good sized knot underneath….so obviously it’s raised a decent amount! I will continue to try to get the photos uploaded.

Thanks to Jana and her husband’s home cure. I live in Southern California and the bite was on my lower left leg. Painful like I couldn’t believe with nausea as well. Couldn’t walk on that leg. All I know is the squished spider was black. I was desperate. Could not afford the doctor, and afraid where this thing might go. My wife thought I would have to go to the ER anyway. I wanted to try this first. Didn’t have Lowry’s, but had seasoned salt. Cleaned the area, pulled the white spot, drained, and used the paste. Covered with gauze and wrapped with tape. I’m not advocating, and neither was Jana. I’m just saying my leg was better overnight, on the third day following the bite.
I have a hard small place on me. It’s red and it’s hot and it’s peeling. I had the same thing on my leg it went away finally. I have been seeing spiders, what can I do for this? It hurts bad and it feels like it’s swollen and trying to go down, but its real red and peeling and hot.

Hi! My five year old got bit by a spider and it looked exactly like the pictures of the Pimple bites mentioned above. The first day, we did nothing except keep a eye on it. It swelled up quite a bit, but didn’t seem to bother him to much. the bite was one his leg. The second day it got a large round pinkish area around the swelling and started to feel warm when we touched it. My husband took some tweezers and gently pulled off the white pimple part. He did not squeeze it. Then he went to the kitchen and got the Lawry’s season salt, put a pinch of it in a container added a bit of water, made a kind of paste and put it on his leg. Let it dry. He did it again, just before bedtime. The next morning, the swelling was gone, the redness was gone completely. My son, on day three now,just has a tiny dot on his leg. My husband is not a doctor, nor plays one on tv, but it worked for us! Just thought I’d let ya know!
i found a black spider i my house! we found some in the garage to, it looked like a wolf spider or a hobo or a brown recluse.
We found a couple of spiders in our garage! and my mom almost got bit, my mom says she thinks it was a brown recluse spider! those are dangerous we saw a video and you have to get something out of you spider bite! i’m scared! i’m scared when i go to bed i think the spider is going to be on my bed!

My boyfriend got bitten on his foot by some thing. When it finally made a sore it looked like the bite on page 13 that when you click on the picture is says it is a hobo spider. Well any way we have been going to the wound care doctor and still can not get the thing to heal. It is located on the top off his foot in between the big toe and the one next to it. They have cut on this thing and it still is giving him a great deal of pain. He can’t stand anything touching his foot top or bottom from his ankle down. It is to the point he cant walk on it and now they have him in the hospital on stronger antibiotics and pain meds. What can we do for this bite? Please we are getting very worried.
I woke up yesterday and noticed a red dot below my ankle. It looked like a bug bite then I wake up today and its bleeding and there is puss coming out. If you have something like this please comment and let me know what this is…

I was hanging out with friends tonight and got out of a friends car and the upper right side of my right butt cheek, I know it’s embarrassing, burned all of a sudden right away. Instinctively I rubbed/grabbed/pushed on it and it felt like my muscles in that area were on fire. Through my boxers it felt somewhat “moist” and I felt a bump. I looked at it and it seemed like a zit but not, also with a small liquid on top. It’s been bugging me for the past 45 minutes now and feels all tender around the area. What should I do?!?!

I recently got bit or at this point even stung by “something.” I’ve waited upon seeking medical attention, but i did call and make an appointment to be seen for Monday, because its not really getting better. if anyone could please inform me with anything, because ive never dealt with an insect bite, and i don’t know what else to do.
i have a memory of thinking i was getting a pimple on my lower back, right where my underwear and my jeans sit, so naturally i scratched it and then thought okay ill put some benzoyl peroxide gel. a day or so later i checked it out and it didn’t look right, it started with a few closely scattered bumps. I put some Burt’s bees anti itch cream thing. the weekend passed and i noticed I’ve been feeling odd, flu like symptoms, very groggy, and my lower left side really aches. I cant lay on my side, my left leg feels sore and completely different from my right. I even have some reddish slightly swollen mark on my thigh. (I’m not clear if that’s from the weekend or from this “bite”)
and well today its the 11th day I’ve been applying benadryl ointment. and where it was originally at, has become dry, and darker, as if it is scabbing. yesterday i noticed, that its appearing a little below where it was at, and i think its possibly from my jeans irritating the wound.
any info?

I was bitten on Friday night. It’s a spider bite. It’s like nothing I have ever seen. I had one red spot on Sat on the left side of my neck. Now it’s Thursday I have a cluster of blisters and a few more other places. These spots have spred. They are sore and very ichy. I have swollen glands behind my are and neck. I went to the doctor and he gave me a strong Antibiodic and some hydrocortazone cream to put on the affected areas. I don’t know what kind of spider bit me. I heard once they bite you they don’t keep on biting you they die. I have malleable spots of blisters as well as the cluster of about 17 on my neck. I never new I was allergic. Signed from Indiana
My son had a bump on his knee that he thought was a zit. After he popped it, it has become red and black with a small opening in the center of the raised area. It continues to swell and hurt. He does not remember anything biting him nor did he see anything. the Dr drained it and has put him on a strong antibiotic. Brenda, Could you tell me if your bite continues to get worse? A few years ago my boyfriend and I had to stay about a week in a hotel while we relocated. I seen this reddish colored spider in our blankets and immediately put them out in the hall to be washed. A few days later I seen the same type of spider in our room again. I eventually noticed the gigantic red mark on my inner thigh area. It was extremely itchy and later that night developed little pustules all over it, the fluid inside appeared to be greenish indicating infection.
so I took a trip to walgreens and bought something called bactine, sprayed it on there a few times that night. The next day it seemed that all the little pustules had connected together. I then sterilized a safety pin and broke the skin. I put peroxide on it and some neosporin. The next day I went to the doctor. He said it was an insect bite and prescribed me the usual antibiotics. The next year the same thing happened to me in the same exact spot. Is there some sort of spider or insect that can smell where the other one bit me and bit me again???? It’s about a year later from my last episode and its happening again.
that is bad really bad you need to get something to hill that up so ya. if that was my house I would call a doctor to see what kind of spider that was.
I have the same kind of bite like the person in picture 21 and mines started the same way. It has been 5days and my leg still hurts. I have been keeping it clean and I have used whichhazel and alcohol and oitment in the bite. It has lessen the pain some but it still hurts. Can anyone please help me in getting rid of this pain and bite. The area around the bite is somewhat hard but that also is disappearing. help me please.
I woke up yesterday morning to a burning and itching feeling under my ankle. The spider had bit me on the crease of my foot so the crease is raised and hard. Ive been using dermaplast on it to sooth the itching and burning which is helping! Can anyone tell me what kind of bite it is? Have you seen or had similar bites like it and know what kind of spider it is. I am terrified of spiders!!
I have been bitten twice this year by spiders. The first bite was so serious I had to have surgery twice and extensive antibiotic therapy. This thing even developed a secondary infection. The second bite, as yet, has not been as serious and hopefully won’t be a repeat of the first.
The first bite was on the back of my neck, and really I thought it would “go away”. Before all was said and done, it was a horrible lesion about the size of a golf ball, and the pain was horrible. There was a strange throbbing pain that I can only describe as similar to being shocked by electricity and muscle throbbing not only in my neck, but my head and face. I also suffered some neurological issues from that bite.
Be acutely aware, folks, that those bites are dangerous and a doctor should be seen asap.
I live in central Canada and was never aware that bites from various spiders could inflict this much harm and injury!
I do have what looks very much like a Brown Widow Spider in my front garden, but I haven’t seen her for about two years; only various webs in my Cedar Tree where she finally established her home remind me of her presence.
About the beginning of May, however, I was transplanting ‘goatweed’ from back garden to my front garden and the roots were infested with millions of ants. I never thought much of it until I developed a sore on my chin (around the beginning of June) that developed an abyss that needed to be drained and required medication; medication that I am still taking today. Vancomycin is what I am taking now and as I’ve read it is suppose to be quite effective.
I have read many posts here about the connection between spider bites and MRSA, but wonder if there may be a possible connection between ant colonies and MRSA?

this is day 2 of my painful journey. so far all what has happened is that my arm is swollen (the area about the size of a softball,) that same area is extremely tight & very hard to the touch, splotchy red, itchy & painful. the numbness has traveled from the top of the area down toward my upper/inner elbow & i have flu like symptoms- sore body, sore throat & weakness/drowsiness. idk what this is but it’s def making me nervous.
I noticed a red mark on my leg About 5 days ago after becoming I’ll with mild fever, coldness, exhaustion, lethargy,and an overall feeling like I had toxins running through my body. I got over the symptoms but the mark is now more red, raised, hard and warm with what looks like two fang holes.
Hi there….I am in Pickering, Ontario, Canada and recently was bitten several times by a spider. We have been killing these HUGE FAST running brown spiders. I will forward pictures of. The bites were almost like fang bites and my son killed one and looked at it and saw fangs. I have been searching the internet forf days now looking for what these spiders. I really hate them…we live in a basement apart. There is/was a leak in the one wall and I killed 3 spioders in the area where the leak is/was. One was climbing down the wall from the window and the others were against the wall. We have found that we find them usually on the floor.
I am ok from the bites as they were very itchy and yet they hurt at the same time. When I first saw the bites they were just one red spot and then when I scratched the other bite became visible. So I opened them up and squeezed the clear pus from them, placed triple action polysporn on them and each day I cleaned them with as hot a water as I could stand then with witch hazel once that air dried I placed more poly on them and left them to air dry and heal.
It’s been about a week and the marks are just about gone. I was bitten on my hands and lower part of my arm. and a bit on my face close to the check bone.
Can you plz help identify these nasty things!! I have sprayed lemon pledge on the window and the floor where I last saw these spiders.

I just submitted my pictures to the we address , I am not sure weather to go to the doctors office , i believe i got bit (3 times) on my ankle outside in Massachusetts on Thursday … first two days it was three pimple looking things with a small hole in the middle , very very itchy , 3rd and 4th day it hurt very bad and was very red and swollen , it is like all 3 bites formed one big 6 inch by 3 inch swollen RED very PAINFUL area. it almost felt broken , i could hardly walk on it , Well i couldn’t walk on it … Today (5th day) pain it still there (just a tiny bit less then the past 2 days ) swollenness might have came down a tiny bit also , still very red with a slight yellow bruise like color around one of the bites . I was bitten by a brown recluse spider but at the time I didn’t know it, I went to a doctor who ended up misdiagnosing me and giving me 2 types of antibiotics to cure it, but it wouldn’t go away. It took 3 months to heal and was a horrible experience. Doctors need to be more informed about this sort of thing. I now have a horrible crater scar on my leg and will have to go to a plastic surgeon to try to lessen the appearance of it.

@Trish #135. What you have there looks like the classic deer tick bite bullseye. What you were going through if it was were the symptoms of lyme’s disease. I’ve had it 4 times so far. Not fun. Hope you’re doing better.
Never felt the bite. I have two bites. One on my left arm just below the elbow and one on my chest dead center between the pecks. This is day five and still a lot of redness around the bite (size of a quarter) and red blush and swelling on the arm. Not really that uncomfortable but it doesn’t seem to be getting better.
I live on my ranch in the Hill country of Texas just 50miles west of Austin TX. I am guessing it is a spider but no idea what kind. I get bitten, cut, stomped on and lacerated on almost a daily basis but this one is strange. I usually recover very fast. Cuts in a couple of days and so on. This just stays swollen and inflamed. Curious.
Anyway, I am counting on surviving but just thought you might like to see the photos.

I am not sure what kind of bite it is but my 2 month old grandson was bitten.after seeing the pics the marks were similar to page 2 pic number 6 it had swelling and happen within a short time as we went for a walk and he was fine we had supper n within 20 min. I looked n he had all these little purple like marks size of pin needle end with swelling would this be a spider bite if so what type of spider?? My son took him to hospital they did blood work but they have to return today for a check up IS THERE ANY CONCERNS OF THIS BITE THAT WE SHOULD BE AWARE OF???
Hi I have just been unexpectedly diagnosed with shingles.
I have had a constant ache under my left shoulder and i went to the Dr and he suspects Shingles but i have no spots at this time but the aching is unbearable i sympathies with all who have full blown shingles as i haven’t got to that stage yet.
I have had breast cancer and underwent and operation followed by chemotherapy and radiation this is what has caused mine as i am not stressed or under any kind of stress. good luck everybody

HEY EVERYONE I’M NEW HERE AND I BELIEVE I WAS BITTEN BY A SPIDER. I have gotten bitten by a spider Sunday night while i was asleep, and when i woke up thats when i had noticed it it looks like a big mosquito bite with a hole in the middle, on my right side of my neck, it hurts really bad ,and the swelling has gone down a bit, and i went up to CVS and asked them what should i use for the pain they given me some anti itch cream for insect bites, just to save me time from waiting in the er all day, but as of now it still hurts and i want to know what kind of spider could have bitten me? thank you oh and that whole part of my neck hurts too and now it has a little bump in the middle.
my leg has been infected for about 6 days now, they started out as little pimples & itched then a few hours later they’d start too burn, a few more hours later they turned into blisters.. i didn’t get them all at the same time they came one after the other, around the knee area my leg started to swell & unbearable pains started too happen. i cleaned in with peroxide & neosporin but it still managed too spread.. if you get any of these side affects see a doctor immediately.
I was bitten on my right shin and for days i thought it was an ant bite. It appeared as a small white head and itched a lot, then i popped it and extracted the fluid thinking that was all. HOWEVER days later it turned to a boil and when it drained on its own, it was black blood. All i did was wash it, peroxide it, apply Vaseline and band aids a few times a day until it somewhat returned normal. But that black scab thing is still left. Its been 3 weeks total.
My worries was Tetanus. My left jaw hurt anytime i opened my mouth, but mostly in the mornings. This lasted for a week. I’m fine now, but I was wondering what spider could do that? I live in NC, and there are small jumping spiders around where i live. I’ve also heard that TMJ was a dental condition that had nothing to do with spider bites.
My daughter has been bit 3 times now (she is not even two yet) in the last 3 months by what we are calling a spider bite. I was also bit once. ( we are in the same room) they start out like pic 21 with in 24 hours. We have never had a problem till this summer ( we live on the eastern shore of MD). They will put my daughter on antibiotics and they we pop it gross. not sure if its even a spider bite any advise
July 4th of this year i was at work, something felt wrong on my leg i had two different bite marks,one was pulse white clear filling,and the other the same but bigger,now 4days later the bigger bite is a lot worse it stings,itchy, its redder,and tender,and very sore,hurts really bad wen i get up to stand and lay down very red and bigger then two quarters put together. i stay in Missouri so i don’t know of all the spiders in my area. please help

I got a spider bit in April on my ankle and I could not feel my hole leg so I put a heating pad on it and I got up 30 mins later to go to wash room and I passed out 3 times when I got to the emergency room they said the spider poison was going through my leg and by putting heat on it stopped the blood in my body from moving and so it could not get too my brain too work so i was I the hospital for 2 days and I still have a scar from were the bite was.
My 4 1/2 year old daughter has a bite on her underarm about a week ago it looked like a small red bump. Since then it has developed a red circular look around it. It is now approximately 1 inch in diameter. I am trying to figure out what kind of bite it is and if it is poisonous or not.
i got a bite on my upper arm.. i noticed it on Friday but just thought it was a mosquito bite so didn’t pay it any attention at 1st. by Friday night it looked like i had a sunburn just around the bite… by Saturday night i was running a 101 to 103 fever my arm swollen and red and very painful and itchy. i don’t know what kinda bite it is but my friend had me put this tar type of medicine and it helped with the swelling but i have a big bruise around the bite and the bite is about as round as a pencil eraser and its crusty on the scab. any idea what kind of spider this was that was?

When my husband was working out in the garden, he was swatting biting bugs like gnats. After a little while of working, he noticed what looked like a small bite. He scratched it slightly. It was the size of a tip of an ink pen head. He awoke the next day with sore arm muscles and a red streak on the inner side of his arm. From almost by the under arm to the elbow. The bite( if it is a bite) is not really noticeable. But the red line is still noticeable under the skin and is still sore. Can anyone help?
I have 4 holes that look like craters on the moon on my leg, I believe I was bit by a spider, have no Idea what kind of spider, I didn’t even know I was bitten because it looked like simple rash, and then after around the second week it started to swell up, now after the scabs fell off theres just the holes, which will be there as scars or the number 4 like on a dice.

I’ve been bitten twice and the bite looked just like the one of Mary, the first pic at the top. I didn’t feel the actual insect, bite me, but I noticed it when I put my arm on my desk at work and it hurt like I stuck myself with a pin!
There was a bump with a white head on it, with swelling and redness all around. It actually felt hot to the touch. My arm swelled over 3 times it’s actual size and I began to feel feverish and ill the 2nd day of finding it. My arm swelled more and the next day when I touched it, the top skin caved in and reveal that my flesh was rotten and a deep hole was forming in it’s place.
I didn’t go to the doctor, cause I didn’t have insurance, so I ended up a the county hospital where I was in and having surgery within 30 minutes. ( people usually sit there for days waiting to be seen if there’s no bullet or stab wound) I had taken a tourniquet and squeezed about a fourth cup of pus out of my arm. The Dr said that probably saved my life. They then cut out the rotting skin about 2 inches deep into my arm, that the poison had eaten away like gangrene. And crazier than that, a couple of years later I was bitten again at a new home across town. they shot the area up with cortisone to stop the deterioration and I recovered without the prior trauma or surgery.
My son has the exact same yellow blisters as page 9 picture #1. Can anyone tell me what it is caused by?
My husband saw the bite just 2 days ago on my lower stomach by my hip. I had no idea it was there let alone how long it’s been there. It looks like a blood blister but the skin around it is red, swollen and irritated. I tried popping it and only a little bit of blood came out. It is a hard lump now. It burns and itches. I’ve had two c sections (one was only 3 months ago) so I still have numbness from the surgery. The lump is the size of my finger nail. It looks like the picture on page 18 that says “By Kathy….(on the bottom of pic) picture 7 out of 30”
I have found if you put a paste made out of baking soda and water on some bites right after they happen it can help a lot. I have done this with spider bites bee stings and scorpion bites (I live in the woods in the south) And it does work. Just leave the paste on till its dry for a couple hours or make a wrap over it . It must neutralize the poison or draw it out – A old lady told me about this remedy.
I got this big spider bite when i was younger and it made my whole cheek swell. I don’t have a photo but can anyone guess what kind of spider bite me PLEASE??? I’d appreciate it!!!
i was bit on my back near my neck doc said it was a spider. it happen on 3/6/2010 the pain is sooooo bad like burning non stop up my neck and down my arm it look like a big red lump as big as the palm of my hand with puncture marks near the middle it is now three day later with meds and pain is still so bad but it does look a lot better. hope the pain goes soon.
i got bit yesterday by something don’t know when it happened i never felt it but it is very swollen and hot to touch it also hurts and itches and its kind of round i do not see any puncture wounds its just a big round swollen area and ever since i have been very sick i have diarrhea i feel nauseous i keep getting dizzy and light headed i feel weak and over heated and i also keep getting head aches and a lot of pain down my spine i looked at pictures and don’t see a bite that looks like the 1 i have i live in wildwood new jersey so you know the area and what bugs to look at
To #135 this is not medical advice; but, that bulls eye is typical of “Lime Disease.” … 3-12 days for symptoms to show up; usually, treated with very strong antibiotics; there is no known test for it; usually treated based upon symptoms. I would ask your doc.
I was bit by what I believe to be a spider last evening. The bite looks like that of image #14. I didn’t feel anything when I was being bit. This morning it is slightly sore but not red in the least. There are two puncture spots about 1/4″ apart with thick dried blood on top. I live in Mt. Tabor, VT and our home is surrounded by the National Forest. Everywhere I research points toward a Black Widow spider. Is this what made the bite in image #14? I called the doctor but they have not phoned me back. Thanks for the help.
I find the best thing to use on a common nonpoison spider bite (for the itching) is cortaid spray. It sure help’s. TOTS
omg these look bad a probably hurt bad to but i was 8 months pregnant with my son and got bit at 5 in the morning…i thought i has scratched my self to death but i raised my leg up and the spider was dead under my leg . the obgyn told me he couldn’t give me any thing for pain and couldnt do surgery untill i was 9 months so i had to keep it on my leg for a whole month. I would rather have seven kids back to back than to go through anything that painful in my life again..it hurt so much
i couldn’t walk or anything of that nature and it was in the winter time i couldn’t wear pants so i froze to death everyday until something was done. i have a scar on my leg now that is 15 inches long and 4 inches wide. i hate it so bad. it is soo ugly…..i hope no one ever has to go through what i did
I was bit approximately seven days ago on my belly. At first, I thought it was a mosquito bite since I had spent a lot of time outdoors on that day. However, it didn’t feel like any mosquito bite I’ve had before. It was red (rashy) and about the size of a nickle. It also had what appeared to be a small puncture wound in the middle – which quickly closed up.
The redness extended a little beyond the bit area. It was more irritated than painful and itchy/irritated whenever my clothing brushed against it. I rubbed alcohol on it once and didn’t scratch. At this point, the redness is starting to subside – but, I still see the closed puncture wound. It’s also still itchy. I just wanted to know if anyone knows what bit me. I assume it was a spider since our apartment has a few of them. Whenever I see one, I kill it. Perhaps this is their revenge (lol).
I think i got bit by a spider about 4 days ago it is just getting worse. there is a white head and around that about 2 inches around there is red hard tissue , it is really red it is on my lower part of my back i am throwing up today i haven’t ate for about 2 days i have a fever, headaches, night sweats,dizzy, eye sight all in and out. should i just stay at home and not go to the docs and wait a couple of days to see if it will get better or just go in?

Oh well, I’ll just share then. I do have a quarter sized raised swollen painful to the touch area on my left buttock, with almost an eraser sized black scab in the middle. It’s painful and full of a lot of “fever.” This is the second one I have gotten in the last few months, almost in the same area as the first.
I’m sure it must be a spider, or some type of insect and not MRSA or some mess like that. I clean my toilets regularly, bathe regularly and don’t sit on public toilets.
Both times, the bites look like what is picture in Post # 37.

I was bitten by something and thought that it was maybe a mosquito bite but now its forming a hard core around the bite mark. It itches like crazy and burns a lot. I hope some one can help me. I cant post a photo. But its the bite mark and its very red around the bite mark. It look like its starting to turn purple on the tip of the mark. please help me

My husband has a spider bite on his anckle and I am very about it. I told him he should go to the doctor and get it checked out. I seen the pitcures on this site and they look scary. We will be seeing the doctor on today. I will tell my friends and family about this site. It is so kool.
