Spider Bite Video

Warning: This is a very disturbing Spider Bite Video and may cause those with weak stomachs to vomit! It is a video of a young man who was bitten by a spider on the face and video tapes himself as he squeezes the pus from the bite. There was sound with this video, but because it contained vulgarity it was removed – this also improved video speed.

There is a lot of pus and as I watched it, it sent chills down my spine. I highly recommend you not play the video if you don’t like blood and pus!

This Spider Bite Video was posted to make those aware of what can happen if you leave a spider bite untreated!

The whitish-yellow substance shown in this spider bite video (pus) is produced during inflammatory responses of the body. The pocket of pus shown in this video actually contains a protein-rich fluid, known as liquor puris, and dead neutrophils (white blood cells), which are part of the body’s innate immune response. Neutrophils moves to the site of infection and engulfs and kills bacteria. After it has killed a bacterium, the neutrophil dies and is what you see dripping out of the bite area.

Again, this video of the spider bite may be disturbing!

    Hello,
My name is Yasmin. i recently was taking weeds out from my garden and i don’t know whether it was a spider bite or a thorn. it was about 15 days ago and after about 1-2 hours my hand got swollen and i had lots of pain. It continued like this for about 2 days, then it went away but the finger with pain and the two fingers that followed were numbed. Little by little it went off, about nine days after it was gone completely, then after 4 days the pain got back but it was even worse, now if I touch it burns. And now the pain still remains there but i don’t even know what bit me. I would like to know what you would recommend to do.

    Please, and Thank You

    WARNING!
Quote: diatomaceous earth. It is sold in swimming pool stores or department stores. It is used for filtering. NO!!!
The pool stuff is TOXIC! Only FOOD GRADE DE should used around the house. It does work, but must be food grade. You can get a device that will lay down a good coat across window sills, doorways and other access points. I put it in my cats’ litter box on top of litter, gets rid of flies and many other bugs by dehydrating them. But it *must* be Food Grade! Please, always check out info like this.

  3. buddy says:

I believe what this is to me is a boil.I had one on my butt chick, elbow, inner thigh.the one on my butt chick was the size of a softball, thats how big around it was,It came out, just the same way and was very painful. just think about what it would feel like to take a hot poker to the chick.Could not sit on it at all. Though I’m not saying it isn’t what you are saying it is.I just know that my elbow was so bad, that i had a poppeye looking arm from elbow to figure tip.I waited to long to get it looked at,doctors won’t look at you without a head on it.they won’t cut it open.unless head on it. the one on my elbow it thought would just go away but didn’t because i waited to long thinking it would go away, but it didn’t,So i went to the hospital and they knifed it,only after having 4 shots of pain killer and that didn’t even make the pain go away.I will say though that after they cut it my elbow felt good.a bunch of white and dead nasty stuff came out of my elbow.

It looked just like that, boils hurt and it sucked.

but if there is people on here that think they have a spider bite think about it being a boil.because if you have one it will be painful.

  4. ashley burke says:

i have a red & swollen spot i didn’t feel a bite and it isn’t a open wound it has been like a day in a half it has only swollen up it was at first the size of big zit and it has only gotten bigger now its bigger then a quarter it is very painful and its like a zit on top of a swollen spot. i was wondering is there any thing i can do beside go to the hospital however i did see a baby spider on me it was almost clear any as small as a pin head. i would greatly appreciate a email back just so i know what to expect..thank you.

  5. Cameron says:

This is not a spider bite, this is a parasite that is found in tropical regions such as South America, Filippense etc. This video has been on Youtube for a while posted by the guy in the video how happen to be filippeno. I believe it to be the Botfly.

  6. aimy says:

  7. Christianne says:

It is a spider bite. Spider bites can cause MRSA. The long thing at the end of the video, that he was using tweezers on, was an egg sack. Spiders have become frighteningly dangerous, more toxic, and are evolving fast. I have long hair, and I’ve had them hide in my hair and then bite me on the scalp. The bite that I got on the scalp was exactly like the guys in the video, and it took months to heal. Of course, Dr.s and medical staff INSISTED that I was a “dirty” person and that it was an infection, when in fact, I knew better. I’m not a dirty person, and I saw the spider that bit me. Why are medical people so closed minded about these things? Finally last weekend, after years of arguing, a Dr. finally admitted/realized that a spider bite had caused a person to contract MRSA. I’ve known this to be the case for years, I’ve seen it happen, but Dr.s are just now seeing it.

  8. Cassie says:

to tell everyone the trust honestly this look like it is staff infection caused by the spider bite. I had staff infection from a bug bite and it was this size but on my thigh. I ended up going to the hospital because of the pain and they had to cut it open instead of spreading the infection by “popping it” like a pimple.

  9. Jenn says:

I googled “wood spider bites” when this video came up, and have no doubt that’s what this is.

My cousin got bit by a wood spider on just above her buttocks several years ago, and that’s what it ended up looking like. It had become so swollen and the skin so taught, that it ended up finally bursting on its own. I remember b/c she, my sister and I were all sitting together and she reached around and said her “ass felt wet” she and my sis went into the bathroom and it was oozing white/yellow pus and as my sister squeezed to help it along she had the long white “worm” masses coming out as well that she needed to pull on (except she had a glove on and was also using paper towels, not tweezers). Towards the “end” of it all there were small black chunks coming out as well (I’m assuming this had to have been dead tissue). It got to the severity seen in the vid in under 48 hrs and was like that for about 2 weeks before it broke open.

  10. Drew Rhodes says:

wow that was disturbing but yet i couldn’t look away, but you must get this a lot but why didn’t he go to the hospital and are you sure that a brown recluse spider bite cause i have seen 4 or 5 of those around my house an didn’t think much of it because i had never gotten bitten before and now that i did i see that though little things sure pack a punch.

  11. conster says:

Ha I watched this while eating dinner, didn’t bother me none, then again I’m not normal.

  12. blair dietrich says:

the best cure for pitts a spider bite in west India is to take a cloth and cover the wound and then simple wash it out with water and place the wound with water and mouth spit.

  13. JBC says:

I believe it was a bite. My friend gets a similar reaction (but on a much smaller scale) from regular spiders…pus and all that does come out of such holes. This video makes me want to throw up.

  14. Selisa says:

Wow!Ariel!Your alot like me.I wasnt really grossed out that much.Only a tad when the string came out of his cheek…
Other than that,it was great.Teaching others the aftermath of a spiderbite isnt that great to be dealing with..
This would be terrible to happen to me.And i would really dislike it.
I was just curious about it.Also, what spider was it that bit you?

  15. joanna says:

I don’t think that’s very safe to do yourself, you could spread the infection.

  16. chad j says:

    Awesome footage!

  17. Sgt. Gross says:

That is not even closely most gross thing I have ever seen…:D

  18. robert says:

That was not good and I did not like it and will not watch it again and if I see that again never because I hate it will never watch it…

  19. mike says:

This guy must have been miserable. The pain and discomfort as well as it being on his face..

  20. seriously says:

Seriously could someone PLEASE tell us what the outcome of this unfortunate fellows medical emergency was? Is he alright?

  21. ashley says:

i did not want to leave a comment when i first started watchin that….but now i had to that is the most nastyest thing i have ever seen in my hole life i fill so bad fo that guy…when he waz doin that my face stared to hurt when he waz sweezin tat sturr out of his face…

  22. boo says:

Oh my goodness! This video has my head spinning, it was really gross.

  23. Leah says:

OMG…That was serious! When I was 15 which was 21 years ago I was bitten by a spider on my chin. When I woke up my whole jaw was swollen and the site of the bite was red and the size of a golf ball. It was full of this hard white substance but never drained like that. My mom took me to the hospital and I was given antibiotics. Had to take 4 a day for 10 days and soak my chin in the hottest water I could stand. The only thing we should have done is brought the thing with us because he was bold enough to stick around and was a weird bright green in color!? but my brothers killed him 🙂 I had to eat baby food until the swelling went down because I couldn’t open my mouth. I hope he went to the Dr. for something cause that was nasty! Good thing I have a strong stomach…lol… I hate spiders too, he left a nasty scar on my chin that is still here 21 years later

  24. Kevin says:

It looks like you were biten by a brown recluse spider. That was pus coming out and it looked like you were also pulling the “sack” out of the wound. A sack like formation often surrounds the internal area as a means of some sort of “protection”. Hope you sought medical treatment because the next step could be the deterioration of the skin around the wound site and even with treatment (removing the dead skin) it can lead to bad scarring. Great video but, hope you are okay now Jim.

  25. Katy says:

i have some sort of bite on my left thigh. it is raised bump about the size of a quarter and hard as a rock. there is also a red tendr area around it that is about 3″ in diameter. can someone tell me what this is and if it needs medical attention. btw i am 14 yrs old.

  26. Randi says:

I totally agree with #16 Andy.

  27. carmen says:

I think I’ve been getting some spider bites (thought they were bed bugs but only a bite here, a bite there) and googleing to find some info. and came upon this video. This ranks up there with the top 3 disgusting videos of all time. Spider bite or not he should have gone to the doctor’s so that it could be drained properly. I had one of my tonsils swollen up so badly a couple of years ago that twice I had to go to the hospital to get it drained from a needle and a small incision and that’s what this guy should have done.

  28. tony says:

i got bitten once on the arm it hurt so much it was the nastiest thing i had seen a spider bite look well the bad thing is a month later i got bite again on the neck it was worst then the arm it look so gross i went too the doctor and he said the spider had laid eggs in it i liked too have passed out.

but it was the worst pain i have ever had the grosses stuff came out of it it was pockets of white stuff there was a lot of it long streams of it came out then a really big pack of it came out it had a really bad smell i know one thing i don’t ever want too ever have another spider bite again

  29. Elton says:

IDK thinks this is a brown recluse bite but it wasn’t it was more like a house spider or a wood spider or a wolf spider if he was bit in the states

  30. jojo says:

It’s obvious this is not a spider bite, a boil that was left untreated.

  31. Ashley says:

This video brought back some bad memories. My best friend had the same thing happen to her on her beautiful face. She went to the hospital they accused her of doing drugs and sent her on her way with only a IV sad to say three days later the swelling on her face was the size of a tennis ball, and it was nasty even nastier to go out to eat with her I was afraid it was gonna pop any second and hit me and my grub. I was finally able to get her to agree to let me squeeze it and man we hand to hold her down and take turns. In the end it was nasty what came out of her face was well the best way to describe it was it looked like nasty KFC chicken fat.

  32. Carlie says:

This is in response to # 65, Dr. Ortley,
You are correct in identifying the bite/wound site from the brown recluse spider. You may be mistaken in the locations where these spiders are found. Yes, they are found largely in the southern United State, but that is not the only place. My father was the first documented case of brown recluse bite in CO in 1969. Yes, the necrosis happened quickly, bit on Sat., had a hole the size of a dime by Monday morning. He had his leg amputated in ’77 and contracted a ‘mirror’ ulcer (not uncommon) on the opposite leg which was amputated in ’86. We are aware of several other folks being bitten in the general area we lived in the early 1970’s and ’80’s as well.

  33. Yolande says:

The pus like fluid in this video is exactly like whats coming out of my 2 year son’s spider bite. It started happening after he started taking antibiotics. I’ve been watching it very closely and cleaning it often with peroxide and antibiotic spray. Hopefully it will subside soon because he’s in great pain but no fever so far.

  34. nikole says:

OMG!! That video was disgusting, i did not puke but sill that yellow stuff was pretty nasty, don’t you think. i have never bin bit by a spider, but if i ever do get by a spider anytime i will totally contact or tell you guys.
    THX!!!!

  35. Cindy says:

    after reading d comments i did not dare 2 watch d video!:P

  36. Johnette says:

OK FOR GOODNESS SAKE DOES IT MATTER WHETHER THE SPIDER DID BITE AND CAUSE THE INFECTION, to all you know it all it COULD have been a spider bite or it COULD be a boil. We thought my husband was bit when he was moving a couch but it could have been a staple either way the Nurse at the ER (HELLO) You know swelling, redness, pain!!! ER!! She knew IMMEDIATELY that it was MRSA infection. BAD BAD BAD NEWS PEOPLE he was stuck or bit (who cares) same outcome! at around 12 noon and by 2 am he was saying take me to the ER. THIS man is a Vietnam Vet who HATES Hospitals with a vengeance and he knew to go to the ER.LOTS of antibiotics and he was ok. This crap kills people and is now one of the most prevalent skin infections! DON’t TAKE CHANCES AND will ANYBODY find out is this person still alive??????

  37. cody says:

    Thats nasty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! VERY VERY GROSS

  38. Samantha says:

I can understand showing the bite for educational purposes, but I don’t understand the point of showing a close-up of the guy squeezing the gunk out of it. That really didn’t tell me anything other than the obvious: a bite that swollen is obviously going to be filled with something. And this guy’s dumb for doing this instead of going to a doctor. Some information on what kind of spider the bite was from, when & where he got it, the symptoms that came with it, etc would have been more interesting and useful than over 4 minutes of pus and blood.

  39. Dilo Mush says:

I was bitten by a yellow sac which is very closely related to a brown recluse, the bites being so close in appearance and characteristic that a brown recluse bite is often misdiagnosed. Often the culprit is the yellow sac.

I can tell you that this does NOT look anything like the bite I had. I do not think it is a recluse bite. I think it is a bloody bad abscess.

While watching that I kept saying “why are you doing this and not at the DOCTORS”? This guy risked a systemic infection by doing this.

  40. woodski says:

Well, that was great !! loved it …. Hubby was grossed out ( typical male ) , But my mother and I loved it … wished we could squeeze it . She thought it was a boil immediately , as do others , who knows . Im just looking up spider bites as a friend was biten on forehead and is swelling up … if it turns into this , you can be sure I’ll be onhand to squeeze the stuff out of it for him !!!!

  41. ashlyn says:

I think that spider bite video is sssssoooooooooo disgusting! I hope he’s OK. He looks like he is pucking from another side and it seeping from his cheek!

  42. loretta says:

that’s gross and the doctors need to do something about if they haven’t yet and i also think that you need to wear some gloves?

  43. Katee says:

OMG! that spider bite video was aweful! i got bit, and wouldn’t touch it, let alone pop it like a zit! at first i thought that was pus, but What was he pulling out with the tweezers???!!!

  44. india says:

i am a scardy cat of spiders ….. but that spider bite scary

  45. jawzy says:

wooooooow it looked like more of a stalf infection gone completely wrong ooooo shock isnt the word disgusted mostly ima watch it again lol

  46. Liddia says:

    oct-22-08

Hello every one my name is doctor martin,I grew in the red woods of cali where bits like this are common. This could acturelly be a staf infection or a bite that has grown into a type of staff infection. wich is common for bites to do the bite itself gets infected from the poision in the spider known as vinum.

The vinum is what kills the skin as well as white blood cells wich clean out infections, causeing a staff infection wich is known as dead blood cells white ones to be exact wich die from the poision wich causes the skin to die too.so if you notice any infection in the skin and are not sure if its a bite or staff infection get attention to discover what is causeing it the cause of a infection weather a bite or staff can only realy be determined by a skin or blood test unless you know for sure you have been bitten and do not try to get rid of such a thing youreself the risk of spreading the poision is too high of a rist to take and a infection like this is way too dangerous!

GET HELP IT COULD REALY KILL YOU OVER TIME AND I HAVE SEEN IT HAPPEN. ITS NOT THE BITE ITSELF BUT THE INFECTION THAT HAS SPREAD THROUGHOUT THE BODY AND INCASE YOU ARE WOUNDERING WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR I AM, IM A MORGTITION! THATS RITE I STUDY DEAD PEOPLE!

  47. Lee says:

I agree with a few others on here that it is not a Spider bite, in fact from the location along his lower jaw I’m pretty sure that it is whats know as an Abscessed Tooth that has gotten to the point that it has come to a head, if you do a search using Abscessed Tooth you will see the same types of pus filled infections, they usually are located near impacted wisdom teeth.

  48. Amber says:

Yeah thats weird it didnt gross me out either.im like ariel it fascinated me i guess i dont have a weak stomach i just cant believe a spider caused that im mean you think this is gross watch an abscess being poped and no that didnt bother me either. lol but i dont feel sorry for this guy that must have hurt.

  49. Barbara says:

I have a bite in the exact same spot as this unfortunate young man and after three days of throbbing, intermittent, pain, I’m going to urgent care tonight. The area is hard, red, hot, about the size of a half-dollar coin, but has oozed only a small bit of pus. I also have a small bite under my arm, which looks exactly like the “bite under arm” picture featured on your website. However, two summers ago I had to squeeze a similar bite in an area I would rather not mention, and about half the amount of pus as the video came out. We were building a deck on a hill and I was working under the deck, in alot of dirt. Absolutely the worse pain I’ve ever felt – way worse than labor and delivery!

  50. BLW says:

First of all this clip is very Educational I dont find it disturbing at all.But what I do find Disturbing are the people on here that have CHILDREN that had been bit by something in the past or present and are talking about how you took care of it on your own in stead of taking your child to the HOSPITAL and the other ones that are asking what they should do.HELLO seek MEDICAL ATTENTION!!!
These are Children you are talking about I cant belive you are asking what you should do.I can tell you what you should not have done you should not have had children if you dont know what you should do.

  51. Tracey says:

As a medical transcriptionist, I can attest to the fact that doctors can’t spell (see above posts, LOL).

As for the bite versus abscess controversy, one can lead to the other, they are not mutually exclusive. I had a spider bite near my eye that I did not realize was a spider bite at the time I first got it, and I scratched at it at first and squeezed it, thinking it was just a blemish (it was a really hot, sweaty day and I thought that the combination of sweat and sunglasses has just caused an irritation). This caused it to get infected, and I ended up with a whopping infection and abscess on my face that became life-threatening.

So while a bite might generally involve a serum-filled welt, an abscess can certainly develop if, like me, you are careless and allow the wound to get infected!

  52. Maggie says:

Love this video. It’s like popping a really good zit.

  53. Ashley says:

This video was one of the most disgusting things I have ever saw…yet,…I found it oddly entertaining!

  54. karina says:

i recently got bit by a spider i thought it was a roach! but my friend said it was a spider today is the 5th day and i squeezed some bugger like pus and something like a long string…. it was so weird so i went ahead and googled it ! and ran into this video yuk! that how mine look!!!!!! and painful a circle size of a nickle red hot and hard and very painful. Along with irritaion and muscle pains on my lower back and leg……

  55. maya says:

what happened to the guy after that! just wondering. that was just gross.

  56. Joe O. says:

ok. This past week my son came to me with a bite of some sort on his belly. After looking at it I noticed two fang like marks. I knew it was a spider bite. After it swelled up really big I knew I had to do something. That evening I started to work on it. It looked just like this video. No JOKE. It took 3 days of working at it to get the pus sacks to come up.After I got the pus sacks out the next day it looked a lot better. I wouldn’t want the spider that got him to ever bite me. Talk about painful.

    Charlotte, NC

  57. davy says:

well it was actually very amazing to see this and watch it. I know its very weird for me to say this but to me squeezing pus of of a pimple or something similar is actually fun.

  58. Shaina says:

I have a spider bite right, now which is why i am watching these videos, and was just recently bit , most likely by a Brown Recluse, but we dont no for sure, and it started off small, but then it started going into a huge whole, but i got strong antibiotics to stop the venom from spreading throughout my leg, and i could have to get plastic surgery if the whole doesnt fill in , it is really bad, !!! i didnt feel it when i got bitten, so i dont no where or what i got bitten by, …

  59. DarkAngelWithNonentity says:

Sorry everyone.. With the location of this infection.. And the amount and “stuff” that is coming out of the wound… This is most definately not a spider bite. If this was a spider bite… They outer skin would have worn away very quickly if it were infected to a degree strong enough to cause a bite this bad. The skin around the affected area was for the most part in tact… This infection came from deep within.. Much deeper than a spider can penetrate. This is a swollen infected lymph node.. Simply an infected cyst. By the looks of it it is probably a staff infection, possibly MRSA which is becoming a very well known infection in the community now days. I had had a MRSA infection in a cyst in almost the exact location. I will say that my cheek swelled almost triple it’s usual size.. I wish I would have taken pictures to show you all. It is seriously much MUCH like this guy heres. Pus and blood poored out of it.. I noticed he had water and a lighter.. These types of infections are most easily taken care of by moist heat directly applied.. The hotter the area, the easier to force it to burst.

Generally a staff infected wound like this will easily be mistaken for a spider bite.. The only way to truely tell is from an experienced doctors eyes or after a swab and several tests have been run.

  60. Brittany says:

o.k. so this video was awesome….but i dont cringe at the site of blood, pus, or anything of that nature…i can’t believe how huge the bite place had swelled up though o.O wow! but anyways kudos to the dude that filmed this…it was awesome!!!

  61. S.Hodges says:

As a retired registered nurse I recognized this as a spider bite that had abcessed with a staph infection. You will notice that the guy never washed his hands, cleaned the area first. What you are seeing is the core that is being removed. Wonder if he was on antibiotics?

  62. Leanna says:

I was once bitten by some type of spider and something very similar happened to me. My husband was also bitten and he actually almost died because the venom was traveling up through his vien to his heart. It was the most pain either one of us had ever felt. We got treated and now we both have crazy scars and are terrified of spiders. I still want to know what the heck bite us!

  63. James G says:

THIS WAS NOT A SPIDER BITE.

As others have said before in this thread, this was a staph infection of a hair follicle. (Furuncle or boil if you will.)

In fact, the majority of spider bites are misdiagnosed staph infections. A brown recluse spider bite will tend to leave a much larger hole, as tissue necrosis occurs. Staph infections look similar to spider bites, but differ in important ways.

  64. ricky dunn says:

This video was not gross it was pretty shocking but that’s what happens when you get bit by a spider . I have a spider bite right at this moment and i don’t know what to do. It bit me in the neck and i can not eat any thing.

  65. hollie says:

HELLO??? Why is this kid not in the ER? I would not be trying to mess with that on my own! YUK! I would need some serious pain killers and antibiotics for that.

  66. candy says:

quite frankly, if a spider of any kind bites me, it may as well kill me ! I cannot live knowing one of those disgusting creatures bit me! Especially knowing how badly the bite affects your body. Dude, go to the doctor!

  67. TJ West says:

I was bitten by a brown recluse, that basted got me once and i woke up and went to kill it and the fella tagged me again. this was on my left hip, right above that hip bone.

The damage it left wasn’t very bad only because i squeezed it as hard as i could, but i had to pull these scabs off… kinda gross, sorry; they were the hardest scab i have ever seen, they were 1/16th thick and hurt like the dickens to pull off, usually ripped the wound more… sorry again…

Well i wanted to comment to let every one know if you push with the middle knuckles on your index finger you get better leverage and force when using them then your finger tips like the guy in the video.

OH Btw, even though i did push out the pus (not as thick like above but more or less white blood cells rushing to the wound trying to kill the infection w/ a little blood mixed in) but i was in the hospital for 1week and a half, and almost died.

  68. Alabama Girl says:

First of all my leg looks like his face all swell up but it has form a head. I do not know if its a spider bite are not but since i seen this video I do not want my leg to come infected like this. So i will be going to the hospital on tomorrow. Thanks for posting this video!

  69. GAZ says:

    Hello Guys,

That’s a horrible bite video, but formal.
I want to know, does it hurt to squeeze the pus out of the actual bite area.

    Thanks.

  70. Ann Little says:

I’m being treated for an infection in my hand that the doctors’ believe MAY be a spider bite. It meets all criteria above and even after antiobitic treatment there was still a good deal of (pus), pus, swelling still etc. Treatment started Easter and I still am running fever, hand hurts etc. NOT FUN AT ALL!!
Sorry no picture, husband Salmon fishing while hot and has camara.

Oh, and there is a black dot in middle of bite, of course IF that is what it is.

  71. William says:

    that is really BAD

  72. courtney says:

    ewww! that is nasty!

  73. VINCE says:

Ummmm, there are these places called hospitals.

  74. craig-z lamond says:

Hi there….could the person in charge PLEASE, change the title of this video to “Massive Zit Explosion”, or “Boils Gone Wild” or “If you have one of these, it is NOT a spider bite!” or some other proper title?
Lots of folks are watching this video thinking it is a spider bite vid, which it is NOT. Thanks, I now return you to your normal programming…….CZ

  75. Ashley says:

Wow its my first day seeing these spiders and that video is uhhhhhhh! imagine that happening to you although i have been bit by a baby widow didnt hurt much when it bit me only when it injected its venom felt i little wiggly but hurted! But it hurted….see ya !

  76. tom says:

i work in a hospital and have seen my fair share of spider bites as well as snake bites, and can tell you that is not a spider bite.more than likely its a boil, a spider bite hurts and if you look at this guy he is talking and joking around like its no big deal, THAT MUCH PUS EQUALS MASSIVE INFECTION.i like to know what his face looks like now that it has been “fixed”

  77. immo says:

What you see isn’t a spider bite at all, that poor chap had a worm in his face. If you watch the spider bite video, you’ll see that he’s pulling out a worm out of that large mass.

  78. joel says:

dude maybe u shulda got that looked at u kno. and oh ya what the heck kinda spider did this?

  79. ashley says:

poor dude! that spider bite video was a little gross but i wasn’t disturbed. hey i live by a creek and theres tons of spiders and i hope i don’t get bit by one!

  80. kitty says:

that was disturbing… where was all of that mustard-like crap coming from?! how did it all fit in there?! his bite must of been constantly producing pus by the second! that had to of been a pretty big spider! can you imagine meeting one THAT big?!

  81. lorraine says:

That poor dude, hope you went to a doctor!!!!you heard of septic shock????and the lady was very right about the gloves, let all of us know your out come dude,ya,we care duhhhh!

  82. Amy says:

My son and daughter both have gotten bites like these and we were told by the doctor NOT to squeeze them. They were probably caused by a fiddleback or recluse. We still don’t know what kind, but extremely painful and the tissue around the area is damaged for a long time.

  83. L.A. Jones says:

To eliminate spiders and most other kinds of bugs like them, use diatomaceous earth. It is sold in swimming pool stores or department stores. It is used for filtering. Look it up if you want to know what it is made of. It comes in generous amounts, 10, 25 lb boxes.

Take a handful and sprinkle it around any area you want to rid of spiders (insects). Takes a day to have an effect. It is not harmful to people or animals even if eaten. You can dust your animals with it. (good for fleas).

It works by grinding the legs off the insects. They have the kind of legs that attract and hold things. This stuff just tears them up into little pieces. Don’t worry while grinding their legs off their abdomen is usually punctured and the insect dies.

Kind of a just reward, don’t you think so?

  84. max says:

Ahhhhhhhh what in the world! That is crazy did it hurt?

  85. lizzy says:

that was diffenty a racluse he did the right thing its hard to work with gloves im sure he washed his hands if it was someone else yes they need to where gloves i had that same kinda bite on the inside of my thigh he really needed some doxician after that that was really bad

  86. James Ortley says:

For those of you who do not choose to read others peoples comments and consistently ask “what kind of spider caused this bite?” I can confidently say that this is not a spider bite. For those of you who are absolutely postive that this is a bite delivered from species loxoceles reclusa (brown recluse), you are also very wrong, The reaction to the bite of a brown recluse is necrosis, in other words, the flesh and muscle around where the bite was delivered will decay leaving a “hole”, also brown recluse spiders are an exiled species living only in the southern United States. What the young man in this video had was a boil, or to be even more specific, a furuncle or carbuncle: An abscess in the skin caused by the bacteria. The boy in the video is stupid, the best thing for him to have done would have been to seek medical attention as soon as he realized that there was a problem.

Another important little fact is that most people will only be bitten by a spider once or twice in their entire life. Something to think about before one jumps to a conclusion.

    – James P. Ortley, Ph.D. Arachnology

  87. Lisa says:

i would like to know what kind of spider bite this is please.
how lond did it take for the core to come out?
how long does it take for it to clear up after after the core comes out?
    Thanks Lisa

  88. Summer aka Merr says:

This is absolutely fascinating and rancid all wrapped up in a cute little video. I’ve watched it like 4 times. I can’t get the ladies in my office to watch. Whatever spider did this …..I want to make sure and steer clear of it.

  89. Greg says:

even this webpage has info on MRSA STAPH!! go under spiderbites, its on the left side of the page because 9 out of 10 people who think they have a spider bite actually have staph…….read the facts people, don’t jump too conclusions about your self diagnosis

  90. Greg says:

This is NOT a recluse spider bite…the recluse bite is redish and then hardens over time. It does not swell and fill with tremendous amounts of pus, the skin actually hardens and dies very quickly. The video appears to be a very bad staph infection, a boil that has become so infected that its oozing pus.

  91. ginger says:

I was bitten by a spider n three spots. Thought it was shingles until I found this video. Gross. My bites were so painful I dint want two touch them. Just cleaned them an put Neosporin and a band aid on it, popped a couple Tylenols…don’t know what kind of spider bit me. (live in new orleans), but the necrotic arachnidism syndrome cycle chart fits the description of what mine looked and felt like.

  92. wayne osborne says:

Just so everyone knows. That was an absess/boil not a spider bite. It looks nothing like a spider bite, recluse or other. Furthermore any idiot who would treat it like that would likely do more damage to surrounding tissue.

  93. latoyia says:

well I not like spiders they’re legs gross me out the way they move!

  94. Ms. Brynn says:

I don’t know how I found this video. I was researching spiders and spider bites, because I have seen so many around my house, garage and garden. I wanted to become informed. Now, I like popping, peeling and picking at myself (and others)(come on now, guys, some you are also like this)……but that was absolutely *%^$#@g disgusting! Anyway, what happened to that man?

  95. billy says:

This is the craziest bite I’ve ever seen!!!!! the grossest part was when he used the tweezers!

  96. bpb says:

Regardless of the type of bite/infection/boil this young man had, he may have done more damage to himself than the bacteria that caused it, simply by playing doctor.

I hope common sense took over after the show and he sought help from a medical center.

I am somewhat of a skeptic and I have seen special effects that are more detailed than this video was. However, if it is real, I wish him well.

  97. Robert says:

I have never seen anything like that. I was just bitten by some kind of spider on my hand, but nothing like that but i would have done the same thing

  98. jenna says:

My sister got bit by a spider and it swelled up. The funny thing is that she doesn’t feel sick and the wound doesn’t itch. Anyone have any ideas please post a comment! I’m very worried after seeing this video.

  99. Kelly says:

I love your taste in videos! I’m a RN who loves I&D’ing abscesses!

I believe this to be an abscess, and not a recluse bites. Recluses aren’t just hanging around biting everyone. Most people that show up in ER with a “spider bite”, have a abscess which has also developed into cellulitis.

This is what has happened to the man in the video. I wish I could talk some sense into him. This needs cultured and started on IV antibiotics. This man could be dead for all we know. I can’t even imagine the possibilities of where this infection is headed. Most definitely has the potential to develop into osteomyelitis.

The “sac” that he is removing is simply the “pus sac”. Fibrous tissue.

I will caution everyone that follows this website to not squeeze these infections. When you see them first develop, keep your hands off of them, your skin clean with soap and water. Warm compresses only. And get to a doctor for by mouth antibiotics.

MRSA is real and is starting to spread outside of the health care facilities. It’s not messing around. Staph is everywhere. You best defense is to keep yourself clean with frequent handwashing, etc. Soap and water is always the best defense!

    Nov. 5, 2007

As I email this, my 35 year old daughter is in a hospital fighting to keep her foot from being amputated from being bitten by a Brown Recluse Spider. She had sprained her ankle first, and did not realize she had been bitten. They have had to cut out at least a 4 inch square section of her foot around the ankle and there is a huge hole.

They pack it with gauze which they pull out for the dressing changes. Antibiotics, incredibly painful, they have to medicate her each time they debride it and use the whirlpool and do the dressing change. She is on a continuous pain pump in her IV as well as heavy duty oral pain meds and valium to tolerate the procedures each day.

To date she has been in the hospital 6 days. This is nothing to mess with and if anyone thinks they have been bitten, they should get their behinds to the ER post haste or risk amputation and possibly death!

If this infection goes into the bone, all they can do is amputate. It has been horrible. This young man should have been in the hospital, not doing it himself.

We carry Staph Aureus on our skins, if that goes internal then we go into septic shock and can die. People die from it every day.

  101. Terry says:

I just watch the spider bite video and I know that is painful because I was bitten in the face before. It looked like i went round 4 round with a boxer my left side of my face was big. The second and third bites were on my right leg upper part and it really hurts when i walk, sit or move. I’ll send some pictures.

  102. Julie says:

very gross video but it shows what a spider bite can do to you. I have been researching on spider bites just to understand more about which spiders are poisonus. If i had been that guy I woul d of been at the doctors or er. he put himself at risk doing what he was doing in the video.

  103. Scottyb says:

This spider could be a Brown Recluse commonly found in the United States. It is very important that you seek medical attention immed. These bites have the ability to eat 1inch of flesh an hour and can have serious long term issues. While in the ER, ask the physician if you can Receive Hyperbaric Treatments. Many hospitals all over the country have these chambers and can help stop the spreading of these types of infections from bites.

  104. Mr N says:

This is the most nastiest stuff I have ever seen in my life! Please people, we are all human, if you have a bite like this SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION and don’t be like this person and wait until it swells.

  105. donna says:

I just watched this video & pray that the young man sought medical treatment. The amount of stuff coming from his face was truly disturbing. My 5 yr old little girl has been bitten by some type of insect & I found this video while trying to identify her bite. I will be taking her to the doctor tomorrow am ASAP!!! I only hope it isn’t anywhere near as serious as this unfortunate young man experienced.

  106. Heather Downer says:

wow. that video was rather graphic and disturbing. I recently underwent treatment for a brown recluse bite on my fore arm. And after watching that, I am so glad I decided to get it checked out and taken care of. I also found out that staff infections are common with these bites. I hope that people with suspected bites will consider treatment, rather that try to fix it themselves.

    -your website is great

    Heather.

  107. kate says:

ehhh gross! That dude is so retarded to do that to a bite, Cory was right!

  108. Sandra says:

This is more of a comment to , Yvonne #19. –Who lives in alberta, and the spiders out there our spiders pretty harmless.
Hate to tell you this but Alberta has there fair share: plus the Brown Recluse spider, Hobo, black widow, brown widow, and now recently the Tarantula. The only one that doesn’t carry a venous bite is the Tarantula spider (I believe so).
My sister was biten by the Brown Recluse spider, two years ago and on her leg. To this day she bares the ugly scarring, along side a massive hole; at one time looked like that man face in the video.
    (She lives in Brooks Alberta).

  109. Anne says:

My daughter was bitten by an insect two weeks ago and we were trying to identify what may have possibly bitten her by looking up different bites…insects vs. spiders when we came across this video. Having worked for a physician for 10+ yrs. I assisted in several lancing procedures but this video tops them all. I must emphatically agree with the good MD, this guy should’ve gone to the ER or to his family doctor for treatment. What he did was far too risky and foolish.

  110. Cory says:

AHHHHHHHHH *pukes* ohhhhhh thats gross *pukes again* ohhhhhh

  111. Razib says:

Why doesn’t he go to the doctor instead of doing it at his own washroom?

  112. Leigh says:

About 7 years ago I was bitten by a brown recluse while sleeping on my couch. The week before, my pest guy had shown me what they looked like so I knew what it was immediately. Most people do not feel it biting them at the time. I called my doctor because of my history with allergic reactions. He told me to take benedryl and go to the hospital if my symptoms worsened. I did what he said but by 8:00 the next morning I had a red rash from head to toe. Long story short– I went to the doctor twice and the emergency room three times before being admitted to the hospital for three days. (would have been longer if insurance companies didn’t think they were doctors) Because I did not have the hole and the usual appearance of a brown recluse bite, all five of my doctors came to a conclusion. They decided that I reacted so fast to the spider that his venom was not what I reacted to. It was toxins in the silva that gave me a systemic reaction. I had to be on iv steriods even after I got home. It was a really bad experience but I will say that you have to pay attention to your body. One doctor tried to tell me I had strepe throat…

  113. Zebra says:

I watched this while i was eating a drumstick icecream and it didn’t gross me out at all =D

  114. Karin says:

Wow! I was bit by something Monday morning on my second toe and thought it was just a mosquito bite. It got puffier yesterday and today my toe is red and purplish and the redness is now spread since this morning from the toe to the whole top of my foot to the ankle.

The site of the bite oozes and looks bruised now around the spot. My whole foot is sore constantly and painful to touch the toe itself, even my bed sheets hurt rubbing against it this morning. The toe itself feels like it is 20 times the size it should be and like it is going to split open, but, to look at it doesn’t seem to warrant running to a hospital and my

The doctor is closed now, it is after 5. It felt worse than it looked, but as time goes on it is changing. I am not sure what to do for it, I started searching for home remedies for bites to relieve the pain and/or pics to try to identify it and am coming up with all this scary information!

I am starting to freak out a bit! I cannot believe the guy in the spider video can even TOUCH the bite site! Let alone squeeze and pick at it with tweezers! OMG! I am thinking I should go to the ER! Any suggestions?

  115. Aaron says:

Thats it! I am now terrified of spiders. I used to be scared, not any more. I will run and scream like a little girl at the sight of all spiders . Good idea posting this people. All I wanted was to identify the bad brown spider…….but seriously, i have a new born child does anything work to scare them away ??? How about that sonic sound thing??? any ideas????? Im scared.

  116. Marla says:

Forgive my bluntness, but you are sick Paulfh! There was nothing funny about the spider video at all and in fact, it sent chills down my spine! If you found this funny, you need to get a checkup!

  117. paulfh says:

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.Nasty but you cant help but laugh

  118. Hilary says:

I watched this video and I just want to know what kind of spider bit him and how long did it take to get to this point?

  119. Pat Frye, MD says:

Sorry about the spelling, Daniel. I really am a pediatricain and lots os us can’t spell and/or type – like me! So this time I’ll try to be more careful! LOL. ( That’s why our handwriting is so bad! ) Anyway, it’s best not to squeeze any of these bites. Only increases chance of infection. Lot of spider bites will have a central vesicle (clear bubble) or pustule (opaque, white bubblr) with an erythematous ring (red ring). Hope I spelled it correctly. THe ring may feel hard but it should not hurt. There is usually intense itching as it is an immune response to a foreign substance (like an allergic response to a mosquito bite). That’s why all bites don’t affect every person the same way. If you’re not having fever, chills and it’s not doing much after the third day or so, you’re probably ok. Fever, chills, pain when you push on it heat,
affected area is increasing in size, or you’rejust plan not sure or nervous about it – see a doctor. Even in a rural area like where I live, there is usually an urgent care clinic or ER within an hour’s drive.

  120. Jennifer says:

That video was quite graphic. It freaked me out a tad because I was just bit by a spider three days ago but not sure what kind. My bite is really red with a pus-like crater in the middle and seems to just keep getting more pus-filled by the day. It is Saturday and the Dr.’s aren’t open, so I guess if it keeps getting worse, I will go on MOnday. When I squeeze it clear juice squirts out, but not actual milky pus. Does anyone know what kind of spider bite this could be? And what should I do?

  121. Candice says:

It was more intresting than it was gross! The pus just freaked me out like a hole lot! I was just wandering what kind of spider and spider bite it was?

    -Candie

  122. jessica childers says:

I can’t emphasize how gross that video was!! It made me throw up!

  123. angela says:

What I saw in this video mildly resembles something that I had a while ago on my thigh. #22 You all should have that checked out because mine was a staph infection. My daughter was getting them on her leg also. I kind of brushed it off at first but when they kept popping up I sought treatment and had to get antibiotics to get rid of it. You should not try to cure something like this at home. When I originally was squeezing the boil on my thigh which was the size of a quarter pound hamburger patty literally I had the same consistency of what’s in the video. That is gross hope he is ok with no permanent scarring

  124. Daniel says:

I do not believe that this is a spider bite, but rather a BOIL caused by a staph infection to the hair follicle!

I am a survivor of an identical infection and can provide documentation proving what I say is true. This is possibly WORSE than a spider bite! lol
Both Mindy and Pat have also confirmed that this is an abscess, though with an “MD” misspelling both [sic] “abcess” and “menengitis” I would be dubious as to his degree.

  125. BRANDY says:

Oh My word! I couldn’t even watch the whole spider video. That is so amazing how something that small could cause a big mess like that!

  126. Pat Frye, MD says:

That abcess in the video needed medical attention! VERY DANGEROUS to do what the guy in the video did!!! A surgeon needed to lance that thing, flush antibiotics and possibly put a drain. He also needed very strong antibiotics and hospitalization. I hope he is OK.

Don’t do anything like that at home!! The face is very sensitive to infection and all that squeezing could very easily
lead to blood poisoning (septicemia), menengitis and a host of other complications.

  127. thomas says:

Ok, now that was a nasty video, but i love spiders and i want to see one more better, ok? I just love spiders!

  128. jim says:

Very informative ….though after reading comments on video I couldnt bring myself to watch it. Probably will get picked up as a a scene in Arachnophobia…Return Of the Brown Recluse!!!

  129. Cindy says:

I had exactly same thing on my face a few months ago. My daughter just had one on her stomach last week. My boyfriend had 3 of them back to back within one month. Can anyone please tell me how to get rid of this Brown Recluse Spiders out of our home? I had pest control company sprayed through out our home last week. But I am so afraid of this spider. I have a 2 year old son, thank god he has not got bitten by them but rest of us have….So anyone please please tell me how to get rid of this spider!

  130. gene says:

Hi, my son and i spend alot of time on the chipola river about 50 miles east of tallahassee, fl and I just showed my son the reason to stay away. We are always outside and this spider bite video made him aware of how nasty this spider is; thank you for the educational footage.

  131. fELESHA says:

HI EWE THIS IS DESCUSTING STUFFFFFFF

  132. Yvonne says:

I too watched this spider video a few times…in total shock…wow I am soooo glad i live in alberta, our spiders are pretty harmless compared to what I have seen on this site!!!

  133. Myton says:

So does anyone know the outcome of what happened to the guy on video? Just curious

  134. Diana D. says:

I actually just got bit by a spider and was searching google to see if I could find out what kind of spider bit me. I bumped into this video and let me tell you, what ever kind of spider bit me, I just hope it’s not the same as the one this guy got bit by. This video didn’t gross me out, But I’ve never seen so much pus before in my life.

  135. Andy says:

This video is incredible, and I could not help but watch it several times. I find it both fascinating and disgusting that the human body can produce so much stuff in such a small area. I had a spider bite several years ago, but rather than swelling up like that, the center of the wound site turned black and hard. On the second day, I started seeing red streaks going up my arm where my veins are, and over time they kept heading up until they reached my shoulder and I decided it was time to go to the doctor. At that time I had no insurance, but I went to an urgent care place anyway. These kinds of wounds are not something to play around with. The video is amazing, but that extremely unfortunate gentleman should have gone to a doctor. I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up with a very bad staph infection.

  136. Tom says:

I woke up this morning to a painful knot on the inside of my leg. It looks like a mosqiito bite, but it hurts really bad sending pains all down my leg. I was bushhogging my farm yesterday and smacked off a lot of spiders. Now it has a red spot under it about the size of a quarter with a small white spot in the middle, but no hole. I sqeezed a small amount of blood out and it is starting to harden up. My stomach is upset and I’m getting the shakes. What will make this go away?

  137. Mindy says:

This is an abscess, not a bite. That amount of pus and blood would not come from a spider bite; bites have more clear or amber fluid in them. Blood and pus indicate a bacterial infection and this is most likely a boil.
Barf, though – I couldn’t stomach watching this spider bite video. I don’t know how you folks watched it multiple times!!!

  138. mike says:

brown recluse spiders causes this .

  139. Ellen says:

That was GROSS but again, what kind of spider caused this?

  140. Carol says:

I really need to know what type of spider he was bit by in the video, I came close to hurling.. then my sis came by and of course I had her watch it te-he. Please let me know what kind of spider bit him !!!! Thanx 🙂

  141. daisy says:

The spider bite video was the most disgusting thing I have EVER seen!

iI had a spider bite on my leg… white stuff came out of it too. o.-

  142. TTreena says:

That was nasty. I got bitten 3 times by a brown recluse spider in 1989 and it was identical to the bite in the spider video, only it was on my leg. I was in agony for a few weeks and after repeated antibiotics and visits to the hospital I was told it was a bad reaction to a flea bite!!!! watching this movie brought back memories of when it happened. When the core had been removed the hole that was left was about an inch deep and the diameter of my little finger. Yeuch!!!! I also had a bite on my armpit, that was excruciatingly painful and had to be sorted out in hospital. That one swelled up to the size of a golf ball. I hate spiders!!

  143. Mary jane says:

I came across the video last night and was shocked how bad it was. My son was biten 4 weeks ago at his friends house and it was on his stomache, just over night he has a big hole there and when he sqeezed out the infection there was a long white thing like a worm.

Does anyone know what that worm like thing is? Also about a month before this my son’s friend had all these bumps on him everywhere and the Dr. wasn’t sure what they were at first, they were like marbles under his skin. But after tests were done the Dr. said he was bit by a wood spider, it took weeks to get rid of the bumps, but he didn’t have the infection and pus. Just a bunch of marble like bumps. He took medication to get rid of them and still has scaring.

  144. morgan says:

That was just about the most gross video I have ever seen, but I couldn’t stop watching it. That guy has to have the biggest pock mark on his face.
    ugh. gross.

  145. Joanna says:

Interesting video, but as a nursing student I couldn’t help but wonder why he didn’t get some gloves. I hope to God he sterilized those tweezers! WOW!

  146. Joe H says:

I had a spider bite when I was 13 on my knee and yeah, it hurt real bad! My dad squeezed for an hour and finally took a pair of tweezers and pulled out these two “pus rods”. They were were clearly two holes from the fang marks on my knee. I highly suggest any type of bite like that in the video where you have a hugh mass protruding from your face or body…go to the hospital or doctor for proper treatment!!

  147. Erin says:

Even though i have seen this spider video before…. i was fascinated by it, at no time was i grossed out by this….. you might find this strange but i watched it three times …. and ariel… your not sick hun,you just have a curious nature… and thats a good thing 🙂

  148. Braska says:

Ariel your a sick girl! But this spider bite video has risen to Viral Video Fame. On Thurs. Aug. 15 2007, this video was played on G4’s Attack of the Show, placing number 3 on there list of videos of the day, then was shown to an unexspecting croud of people what can happen if you are bitten by a spider and not treated. Congrats to the publisher, if he even reads this…….

  149. ariel says:

I watched the spider bite video and it is odd that the only time I got weirded out was at 4:45 which I then repeated it because I was more like in shock than anything. It didn’t gross me out and in fact, it fascinated me.

  150. nathan says:

I don’t want to leave a comment, just want to know what spider caused this? I have seen several spider bite videos lately, claiming to be spider bite infected wounds. All squeeze out pus and the white neutrophils. What spider causes this?

    regards,
    nathan
